blackeight?


Anyone heard the new trance single, "The Silence" by Blackeight?

I'm almost positive that the male vocalist is Dominic Appleton from 
Breathless and This Mortal Coil fame. I suspected at first it was 
someone mining their 4AD backcatalogue for trance anthems (a technique
paul oakenfold & the chemical brothers have used w/ great effect) but
the tracklisting said it was a new single by 'Blackeight'. Can't find 
any more info to confirm, anyone know anything about this?

  On December 5th at Tonic <http://www.tonic107.com/> in New York, NY 
(107 Norfolk Street) is the 'Nonument' record release show with Sybarite 
and friends. The set starts at around Midnight. 'Nonument' is Sybarite's 
debut 4AD album and is now available at cool record stores everywhere!

Thanks for the tip, Jeff.  I never would've heard about this otherwise!  I'm
doubtful I can make it on a Thursday, but I'm going to try :)  If anyone
else makes it, please post a review!

Definitely try, Robn... It should be a blast. I know that Mr. Syb will 
keep the set reasonably short for the benefit of those who have to get 
up at the crack of dawn. I wish I was in the area; I know I'd be there! :)

The 4AD Messageboard has been kidnapped.
Ransom:  The IMMEDIATE release of the new Throwing Muses album.
I have a magnet and I'm not afraid to use it.  Just release the album, and 
the boards will be returned safely.

That new Throwing Muses song is amazing.  Has a touch of Black Flag or Bad 
Religion in it.

Searching for French and German 4AD and Goodson Listees


Bogotá, Colombia
December 3rd 2002

Dear 4AD and Goodson Listees

Once again I am searching for list members in France, Switzerland and 
Germany. Maybe some of you didn´t receive my e-mail from last week in which 
I told you that the French Embassy in Bogotá is sending me to the MIDEM 
reunion in Cannes next January.

My trip starts in Paris on January 11th. I will possibly stay in a friend´s 
house 30 kilometers from Paris and then travel to Cannes. I will return back 
to Paris and I am studying the possibility to travel to Switzerland to visit 
my sister or go to Germany and meet some other 4AD and Goodsonner listees in 
Berlin or Cologne.

I am planning to take some of my cds if anyone of you wants to listen to 
nice latinamerican influenced artists by Nick Cave or 4AD artists. And I 
have a wish list that I am making and if you people could help me seek it, 
it would be great.

So please, e-mail me back those of you who want to get in touch with me or 
those of you who may give me nice guides to cool record stores in those 
places.

Please, write as soon as you can.
