I'm using Seamonkey, a Mozilla product. I guess it's just enough
different from Firefox.

How do you type these Alt characters?

[sylpheed:35370] Re: Typing in Alt characters

Hello Graig,

To get Alt characters, one needs to set correctly the keyboard layout in the system preferences.
For me, the keyboard layout that works to get Alt characters is "us altgr-intl".
Then, the right Alt key(Alt_right) is the one that enables the Alt characters whereas the left Alt
key(Alt_left) acts
like a regular Alt key. For example, to get "ê", I do, "Alt_right + ^ + e"

Hope it helps

The filename was wrong :) The corrent URL is:

http://sourceforge.jp/projects/sylpheed/downloads/56319/sylpheed-3.2.0.tar.bz2/

(trailing / is correct)

Thanks for pointing out the bad link. Just fixed it now.

[sylpheed:35373] fast folder selection and LC_CTYPE

Moin,

I have been using sylpheed with strange setting of LANG and LC_CTYPE
for a while now, because i need sylpheed to able to handle my "local"
language (german) well, while being able to type the strange remote
language (japanese). Ie. i've run sylpheed with the following environment
variables set:

LANG=de_CH.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE=ja_JP.UTF-8

The first one is to set my local language, the second one is to make scim
happy so i can type japanese. But the setting of LC_CTYPE seems to
interfere with a recent gtk update. Namely, the folder selection dialog
does not allow to type the folder name to be selected as soon as i
set LC_CTYPE. Ie when i was able to type "g" (folder dialog pops up)
"f" "o" "l" "d" "e" "r" and jumping to "folder", it does not work
anymore (ie does not do anything, key strokes completely ignored) when
LC_CTYPE is set.

Does anyone have an idea what the problem here is and how i could work
around it?

[sylpheed:35375] Re: Typing in Alt characters

No...If I type "Alt+0234", I get "’²³¤".
This "Alt+0234" combination doesn't exist in Linux as far as I know.
I don't know about Windows.

Fixed at svn r3131. 3.2.1 release will contain the fix.

Hi Craig,

Taken into account what Hiro replied just now, I wonder how it could
have worked for you?

I do recall now having clicked the right-hand link in the list, too. I
think that's what was successful.

Right now I'm having serious DSL problems, so I cannot look at the page
to see what the links say.

[sylpheed:35382] Gmail account failure

Hello,

I'm running Sylpheed v3.1.2 in OpenBSD 5.1 (from packages). After successfully adding one IMAP4 GMail
account and one IMAP4 Google Apps, Sylpheed will fail to add another Google Apps IMAP4 account. It's
added, but it behaves like the password is wrong and it doesn't connect or display folder tree structure
(when forcing to, I get "Rebuilding of the folder tree failed."). I've tried with both account password
and with application-specific password, generated by the two step verification system, it behaves the
same. The first Google Apps account that was successfully added had no problem with
application-specific password. Restarting Sylpheed or deleting and re-adding the account did not
help. I've also tried skipping the wizard and adding the account manually. No effect.

Any hints on how could I solve this issue?

Regards,
Claudiu.
