[sylpheed:32059] multiple MUAs

Hello,

Does anyone (successfully) use Sylpheed and another MUA, like Pine,
Alpine or Mutt, concurrently, and accessing the same mail structure?

Sometimes I cannot export X11, and "checking" mail with grep+less/cat
is absolutelly annoying when in a hurry. I have Sylpheed running as
long as my main station is turned on, so it would be great if I could
use some textual MUA together with Sylpheed, without many issues.

Me too, but then IMAP takes care of the concurrency. What about
multiple MUAs on the same (mail-storing) machine?

Using IMAP, it make no difference where the client run. Problems may
occur if your using direct access to mail files...

Hi Ricardo,
if you don't setup your own imap-server on your own PC you will run into problems with the mailbox format.
When I played araound with various MUA, it was always a PITA to convert from one mail storage system like
mbox to another like maildir. If you don't use LDAP, addressbooks ar eusually not the same format for the
various MUAs.

Cheers,
Klaus

Seems to be fixed since GTK 2.12.6 (see
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=477175).

[sylpheed:32065] sylpheed POP3 to sylpheed IMAP

Hi!
It's the first time that I write in list... and I'm sorry because this
first time I've a problem very urgent....

I'm using Sylpheed from long time, but I'm using it with POP3.
Now, I'd like to use dovecot (installed on my debian server) as imap
server. I know Sylpheed works fine also with IMAP, but the problem
is... how can I move my old emails from POP3 management to IMAP?

Dovecot IMAP server save emails into directory structure like:

- cur
- new
...

and if I have:

- dir1
  - dir2

I have:

dir1
  cur
  new
dir1.dir2
  cur
  new

The email on IMAP server has a "strange" name.... like

[sylpheed:32066] Problems with gpg2-decrypted email

Hi List,

are there any known problems with sylpheed decoding gpg2-encrypted
MIME-Mail?

After giving the passphrase nothing is shown in sylpheed. It just looks
like a mail with an empty body... Decrypting the message via shell does
work well.

So, the only difference I can determine between encrypted messages that
work and those wich does not work is the GnuPG version wich had been
used for encrypting a message. Is this a matter of GPGME? How can I
test that?

Does anyone else ever had this effect?

btw:
Sylpheed 2.4.7 running on GNU/Linux 2.6.
gpgme-config --version
1.0.2

You could start with

  GPGME_DEBUG=255 sylpheed

in your favourite terminal. Perhaps adding "debug-all" to your
gpg.conf, then it stores debug files in your mail folder, for example.

But this one is ancient.

Various symptoms a few years ago.
