Also got this bug on my FreeBSD 6 Stable since I updated my GTK to
2.8.10 and it's still there with 2.8.16. Would be great if anyone
spends some time in solving this prob as it's really annoying ;-)
I currently use a 2.1.4 binary compiled on 5.4/GTK 2.6.10.

Best regards,
Matthias

So it depends on particular data that triggers the bug, maybe we
should contact gtk+ developers? I will try to clean up my minimal
test case removing any personal info, if it will keep to trigger the bug
then we have a reproducible case to submit publicly to gtk guys.

Knowing that I'm not alone doesn't let me feel less annoyed :)

Goodbye,
   Antonio.

This seems to be a problem with our IMAP server, as 'telnet
mail.vizslamail.hu 143' gives the same error.

This is not sylpheed's fault.

With thunderbird it works fine for me.

[sylpheed:27805] per-user multilingual interface for Sylpheed - how ?

I am using Sylpheed on a WinXP system that uses the Multilingual User
Interface (MUI) pack for WinXP, so a given user can choose its own
system interface language preference.
(in practice: English and/or Romanian; reason: in my country (Romania),
most users are using the English interface, while others the Romanian
interface).
A particular MUI language can be set on a per-user basis and affects the
interface language of the Windows Explorer (folder menus, system
settings, etc.), as well as the basic default programs (Notepad,
Wordpad, Internet Explorer, Outlook Express, Paint, etc.)

While one can choose the English language interface via MUI
language selection, the system locale settings still remains set to
Romanian, so the hour is 24h format, paper is A4, decimal separator is
comma, etc..
Sylphed language interface depends on the system locale settings. I
found no way to choose (for example) the English language for an
English system with Romanian locale set, except for deleting the RO
language directory.

I am asking for a solution to can either (a) select a language on
purpose from Sylpheed configuration menu, or at least (b) have the
language directory in the user path, so I can keep or delete the
language directory as per-user preference.

[sylpheed:27806] Folder window width

Hi:

Is there any way to reduce the width taken up by the Folder window? I am
displaying New, Unread and Total columns, but not the New_attached to the
directory name. The resulting window takes up nearly one half of the
screen, with about one half of this window being wasted white space. If I
shrink the width of this window, the # column vanishes. Sylpheed 2.2.4
under SUSE Linux 10.0, display 1280x1024.

Thanks

I'm not completely sure that I understand your problem, but take
a look at Message 26646 (Goodwin Stewart) in the archives and see
if that helps about how to adjust the New, Unread, Total columns.
That's at http://www.tmtm.org/cgi-bin/w3ml/sylpheed/msg/26646

Hi:

That seems to be the problem, but the solution does not work. When I
shrink the folder view pane to the desired width, I can find no way to
shrink the # column width, moving either the left or right sides of that
column obscures the values, i.e there is an excessively wide minimum width
for the display of the total count. I hope that is clearer.
