Closing Claws/Win32

Hi,

The claws/win32 list will be closed.

I don't see a reason for the claws/win32 list anylonger,
cause the differences to the *nix version are rather
minimal and a majority of the postings are not win32 related,
they should better be discussed on the *nix mailing list.
You can find the *nix claws list at
  http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/sylpheed-claws-users

I've created a new mailinglist "claws-w32-announce", where
new builds, plugins, etc. will be announced. The list will
be available (according to SF.net in 6-24 hrs.) at
  http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/claws-w32-announce

The Claws/Win32 homepage and files will be merged with the *nix
Claws project:
Claws/Win32 homepage : http://sylpheed-claws.sf.net/win32
Claws/Win32 bin/source : http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=25528&release_id=161354
(The releases are not yet uploaded)

Regards,

Send mail from action script?

I get messages from Yahoo! groups when someone tries to join one of my
moderated lists. I have a Perl script which parses out the email
address from the message, and send that person a message that basically
says "Who are you?"

The problem is that this script runs under Cygwin, and uses the MH
'send' command to send the message. I'd like to modify it so I can run
it as an action from Sylpheed Claws, without any dependency on Cygwin or
MH.

Can do?

Thanks,

-pd

Viewing images in Windows

How do I set the default image viewer for Sylpheed 0.9.0Claws, and what
are the recommended choices? I was able to get some images to display
by using

"?p\internet explorer\iexplore" "%s"

but I had to set this explicitly for each image. Also, I'm not
convinced IE is the viewer of choice here.

Thank you,

-pd

Well i compiled it on Linux with no problems last night, it wasn't that hard. The reason i personally want to
move to GTK2 is that it has full unicode support. Currently, i don't think i could read a message in russian,
for example. I can't even read lithuanian messages sometimes.

BTW, why does Sylpheed ignore my locale when I am replying? I get that "On Wed..." in english and i cannot
convince it to write that stuff in Lithuanian, though it does show the dates in lithuanian in the letters
listing of a folder.
Also, that "raÅ_Ä—:" had to be "rašė:", but seems like sylpheed is a bit broken there.

Finding GTK+2

Hello,

I hope this problem wasn't posted here before.

Sylpheed-Claws is not my first GTK+ program, and i already have a GTK2
build from http://www.dropline.net/gtk/ installed on my box in
C:\Program Files\Common Files\GTK\2.0, so I installed Sylpheed without
GTK. And now, when i run Sylpheed, i only get a message that "A required
.DLL file, LIBGLIB-2.0-0.DLL, was not found". It seems like Sylpheed
thinks GTK *should* be in the same dir as Sylpheed itself, so is there a
way to make it work with *that* GTK? GTK's path is entered in
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\GTK\2.0] as a string value, named "Path".
There's also a version string saved as "Version", storing my current GTK
version string, "2.2.1.2".

Quoting Sylpheed-Claws/win32 homepage:
Sylpheed follows the unix philosophy of using specialized tools for
specialized tasks, i.e. it uses external applications rather than
implementing a function itself (e.g. ROT13 encoding can be done using an
action script). Please have a look at "Extending Sylpheed" for further
details.

I would recommend sylpheed to use *that* GTK build also, as it would be
shared system-wide, and all the GTK settings would also be shared. I am
currently using that build for X-Chat IRC client
(http://ursus.mif.vu.lt/xchat/).

As for now, is there a way to make Sylpheed see GTK in a current
installation folder, or should i reinstall Sylpheed with GTK?

bad wraping

I use Sylpheed 0.9.0claws11

I want to wrap my messages, but I have some problems.

I enable "wrap quotation" and disable "wrap on input"
and Sylpheed wrap my sign when I press Replay.

I disable "wrap quotation" and enable "wrap on input"
and Sylpheed wrap quotation when I press Replay
and begin type text.

Not really, but heres a summary of the files in <HomeDir>\.sylpheed.
The files that differ between *nix/win are marked with ">" .
All other files/dirs in <HomeDir>\.sylpheed can simply be copied to
~/.sylpheed (or symlinked).
Your <HomeDir> is the one you selected on installation, by default
c:\documents and settings\username\appdata .
