Change Passwd 4.1 Problem

OS: FreeBSD 4.9-STABLE
Web Server: Apache 1.3.29 nobody/nobodya
PHP 4.3.5
SquirrelMail 1.5.0

./change_passwd directory below

I'm trying to setup the Change Passwd plugin and am not having very good
luck. I'm using FreeBSD, so I'm trying to use the pw feature. I've set:

$pathToPw = '/usr/sbin/pw';

When I try to change a password, I get the following error:

"An error has occurred while attempting to change your password. Please
contact your system administrator."

Turning "$seeOutput" and "$debug" on don't give me too much more
information, either.

Command output:
Return code: pw:

That's it. I've double checked paths and configuration, and everything
seems fine.

On a side note - When I turn OFF "$confirmOldPass", I get a message saying
that my old password is wrong.

Any tips would be appreciated.

SquirrelMail does not use $datadir variable. It uses $data_dir. Plugin
should produce errors with _any_ squirrelmail version.

Open plugins/folder_settings/setup.php, find $datadir variables (lines 53
and 60) and replace them with $data_dir.

big amount of time and Bruce might be busy.

If you set php error_reporting=E_ALL and display_errors = on, you will see

FreeBSD includes poppassd in ports. Have you tried change_pass plugin?

it is fixed in 1.4.3cvs and 1.5.0

http://cvs.sf.net/viewcvs.py/squirrelmail/squirrelmail/plugins/bug_report/bug_report.php?r1=1.11.2.1&r2=1.11.2.2

http://www.php.net/function.get-browser

If you want to fix your copy - you will have to apply changes to
plugins/bug_report/bug_report.php or configure your browcap settings in
php.ini. Or wait for SquirrelMail 1.4.3.

Ahem. I've fixed the plugin. I just need to remember my password for
upload. ;)

IE6 and File Manager

Hi,

One of my users is having problems with file_manager. When he left-clicks
on one of his files or folders he gets a 404 not found error with the
message "The requested URL /src/login.php was not found on this server."

I cannot reproduce this error when I use my IE6 to access his account so
it has to be some IE6 setting or something to do with his set up or
internet connection. Has anybody seen this behaviour or got any ideas as
to what is happening here?

All suggestions gratefuly received.

Regards
Graeme

ACL for plugins

Hi folx,

I had asked about the ability to turn on certain Extra plugins for a given set
of users a little while back. SM doesn't support this out of the box, but I am
wondering if we can work toward that end??? Perhaps it can be something as
simple as an include_once near the beginning of the
squirrelmail_plugin_init_useracl call of any plugin. The functionality could
even be included in that call, but that would be unnecessary and extra
overhead to have there for plugins and sites that don't make use of it...

Here's a couple thawtes on a way to add this functionality to a plugin:

1:
* Add a function, perhaps to functions/acl.php (though I'm sure there is a
better place for this), called group_access that takes an array of strings as
a parameter. Those strings would represent text files in the config directory
which simply list account names, one per line, that have extra access to any
plugins that refer to those files.

* Then inside a plugins setup.php you might see something like:
function squirrelmail_plugin_init_myplugin() {
  global $plugins, $squirrelmail_plugin_hooks;

// use new function to determine if this plugin should be active
// for the current username.
  include_once(SM_PATH . 'functions/acl.php');
  if (group_access(array('staff'))) {
// now we know it's OK to install this plugin
    $squirrelmail_plugin_hooks['menuline']['myplugin'] = 'myplugin_menu';
  }
