Dutch Localization for serversidefilter

Hi Folks,

I've been using squirrelmail for my own and my clients' hosting  
systems. I localized the serversidefilter to Dutch and thought it  
would be nice to show appreciation by sharing it with the rest of the  
community.

I'm also working on a localization for courier-vacation. That's  
coming soon.

Hi again,

Here's the courier_vacation in Dutch (and an updated serversidefilter  
in Dutch). By the way:

bindtextdomain('courier_vacation', SM_PATH . 'locale');
textdomain('courier_vacation');

seem to be lacking in options.php and functions.php in  
courier_vacation, and are needed to make the translation work. (Maybe  
it's because there were no translations yet, I don't know what the  
policy is).

Hope someone can use this / this can be included in some way.

How can I modify a translation?

Hi,
I've been hacking SquirrelMail today to make it better fit my
environment and tweaking the UI a little. Now I wanted to make it
translate the default folders' names i.e. from "INBOX" to "Posteingang"
or "Drafts" to "Entwürfe". I found the location where these folder names
are displayed, in left_main.php, but I wasn't able to trace into the
translation system. I see that the _() function is used everywhere and
the only two places where it is defined, it is never called. I don't
understand this. How does that thing work and where can I add my folder
translations then please?

Maybe the above links are of any help. I don't know which other clients
you use, and if they translate the folder names or not, so I can't give
any good advice about this. In SquirrelMail, only the INBOX is translated,
since that's the only folder the user can't name himself. If you want to
add folder name translations, you have to hack the source yourself.

No. It is not supposed to be that way. One catalog can't store two entries
with same msgid string. Please use gettext editors to modify .po files. If

Sorry, that was my fault. I added it the second time. But another string
that I also added ("Trash") isn't regarded, too. And I have no .po editor.

I couldn't find any place in the entire code that touches ".mo" files.
And the code that does read ".po" files, uses no cache, it just reads
that file, every time. So what are you talking about? But I posted that
issue on the devel list now.

(My version is 1.4.7-CVS (snapshot download) from a couple of days ago.)

You don't translate folder names. Simply create new folders with the names
you want them to have, or rename the old ones. Then update your folder
preferences accordingly, i.e. which folder is used for trash etc.

I already did. But the translation system is somewhat intransparent. In
fact I can prove that the only function that can ever read my de locale
files is never being called. I have no idea how that works. Maybe I
should address it to the other devel mailing list.

My other mailer is Thunderbird. This one, Outlook Express, Apple Mail,
IlohaMail and who knows what else will show the default folders in my
local language, so I expect SquirrelMail to do the same. And Thunderbird
