1. Please use latest stable squirrelmail version. 1.4.2 should not have &
related problems in subject.

2. There is a fix that sets squirrelmail to use regular space instead of
non braking space. nbsp is not supported by big5, gb2312 and some other
                charsets.

http://cvs.sf.net/viewcvs.py/squirrelmail/squirrelmail/functions/mime.php?r1=1.297&r2=1.298

Patches made in Line 631, Line 677 and Line 693

3. Please name your squirrelmail version.

Re: English subject is changed when reply email

Can you provide more details? I am unable to reproduce it with vanilla SM
1.4.2 on apache 1.3.29 + php4.3.3 using mozilla firefox browser.

Are you sure that you are using vanilla unpatched squirrelmail 1.4.2?

Are you sure that patches (if you used some) haven't changed
functions/i18n.php, functions/mime.php, src/compose.php or
src/read_body.php?

Are you sure that there are no extra plugins or scripts messing in message
compose window?

Can you provide all headers of your email? If you think that there are
some private info in Recieved: or other headers, remove it or send info in
private email. I need at least "Subject:" , "Content-Type:" and
"Content-Transfer-Encoding:" headers.

I need enlightenment

I checked out SM HEAD:

cvs -d:pserver:anonymous <at> cvs.sf.net:/cvsroot/squirrelmail co -r HEAD squirrelmail

It works OK, but I had to fix the translation for de_DE
So I checked out the locales as well.

Question:

* How can I check out the locales in such a way that they are being
copied directly into the appropriate places in the squirrelmail tree?
It's a bit tedious to copy locales/locale/* to the right places.
  It should be easier...

Attached is a recent translation for de_DE

Actually, I downloaded a snapshot. How do I check out the locales from
CVS?

cd squirrelmail/locales
cat README.locales | more

cvs -d:pserver:anonymous <at> cvs.sf.net:/cvsroot/squirrelmail co \
 -r HEAD locales

po/squirrelmail.pot in squirrelmail HEAD cvs is not updated to latest
strings.
