qmailControl object

I am certain that I am loading qmailControls.schema in my slapd.conf
(OpenLDAP 2.3.11) but the qmailControl objectClass is not available when
I search for defined objectClasses. Has anyone recently deployed
qmail-controls with newer OpenLDAP?

Re: qmailControl object

Is qmailControl included on the main qmail-ldap patch?

Hi,

Look into the qmailControls.schema and check if the objects
are commented or not. May be the problem is just that...

Also, how are you "searching for defined objectClasses"?

Finally, show us the part of the slapd.conf file where you
included the new objectClass, if you please.

Also, is it qmailControl.schema or qmailControls.schema?
Look at the log to find out if there was a mistype...

route messages

Hi

I have configured 4 qmail servers in 4 different
locations
Now mx record is pointing to Server1 (Location 1)

I would like mails of users other than location 1 to
go to their respective mailboxes present in different
locations.

Is it possible using ldap

Please suggest if so how can i configure ldap to route
messages of some mailboxes to different locations.

Best Regards
Vinod Moraes

Qmail-LDAP src.rpm

Well it's been a long time since I have written to this ML, and
I think it's time some people in this ML take it to the next step in the
chain of evolution.

So, I decided it was time I contribute something to you guys who helped me,
but especially, with a BIG token of gratitude to,
Claudio Jeker and André Oppermann ( "THE GUYS" ).

About 2 years ago I started developing rpm packages to do the job I many
times did:
    - get packages, get patches, get init's, compile, install, tweak

So, after a stable time, I decided it was time to return them to the
comunity.

Built packages:

- qmail-ldap
- qmail-ldap-config

Independent Documentation package, install on your PC, not on server:
- qmail-ldap-doc

Most used Daemons:
- qmail-ldap-pop3d
- qmail-ldap-qmqpd
- qmail-ldap-qmtpd
- qmail-ldap-smtpd
- qmail-ldap-pbsdbd

Check out the clustering options in qmail-ldap, that should do exactly
what you want.

Setup courier-imap4 on cluster ldap

Hello,

I don't understand the method for setup imap on cluster qmail-ldap.What is the procedure ?

My cluster is ok for forwarding session for pop3d ; qmqpd is ok my messages is post , but i test that :

On my qmail-ldap master :

my run file :

exec /usr/local/bin/tcpserver -H -c 100 -l 0 -v -x
/var/qmail/control/qmail-imapd.cdb -R 0.0.0.0 143\
  ${exec_prefix}/sbin/imaplogin \
  /var/qmail/bin/auth_imap \
  ${exec_prefix}/bin/imapd Maildir 2>&1

I verify the connexion, all the connexions are forward on my cluster, but ...

0n my cluster ???

Question 1 ?

For setup imap,Is same procedure? (without the same ip), I tested this solution but it does not go !

Question 2 ?

Or it is necessary, setup  courier-base, courier-authdaemon, courier-ldap,courier-imap on my cluster ?

Thank Arnaud Champion

PS : sorry for the orthography i'm french !!!
bye

qmail-ldap is duplicating Mail!

Hi everyone!

I have two servers acting as a qmail-ldap cluster for
domain "mydomain.com".

There are users thats sends mail to one or more
destinations (on the same domain) and the end user
receive two, three and more copies of the same
message.

I have readed the header of all of the duplicated
mails and there are no diferences... just time
diferences, but the path that mail has walked is the
same (Received From:).

This is a very big problem for me because sometimes an
user receive 17 copies of the same message! This is a
crazy thing!

Any ideas?

Thanks

Re: qmail-ldap is duplicating Mail!

I have the same problem too, and that because of connection problems between
the two server.

It solved with timeoutqmqpc.patch, you should compile qmail-ldap/qmqpc.c on
both server with that patch.

Arnaud,

AFAIK, courier-imap do not have a cluster configuration.
Besides, it needs direct access to all the user mail
files and filesystem tree, so you must have one courier
for each machine, and it will serve only the users that
are configured to use that machine as mail repository.

You see, qmail-ldap write files into the ~user/Maildir/
directory, courier-imap just read, delete and manages
that diretory tree.

I do not use qmail-ldap in clusters, and I do not use
courier-imap in that way, too. But, for what you want,
may be it is a good idea to have a number of servers
in cluster with qmail-ldap and a number of servers
with courier-imapd. All of them should mount the users
mail directories from a NFS file server.
