local delivery hangs

Hello,

today i have weird problem with qmail. Mails are
accepted(qmail-smtpd), but is not delivered localy (and remotely)

qmail-send log last lines(for 5 minutes not changed):

mail_is_looping

Hi all,

I am really needing help. I did re-read and re-made everything, but the results are the same: when I try to receive an email from outside, the sender receives a message that "mail_is_looping" :(

The domain security.com.br was created through vqadmin. I couldn't find any clue on logs.

I can send successfully a message from inside to outside, I do telnet localhost 25 and 110 without any problems. Here is my qmail-showctl:

Delivery can't find addresses and just runs .qmail-default

Hi, this is a new problem for me. I've set up a half-dozen servers just like this one in the past without any trouble. The basic setup is: Netqmail-1.0.6, vpopmail, qpsmtpd. The qpsmtpd daemon simply forwards a spam-filtered message to the normal qmail daemon, and vpopmail is there for easier admin of domains. The problem I'm facing is that whenever an e-mail gets delivered, the system cannot "find" the right address, and ends up going back to the instructions in the .qmail-default file. The only thing new to this setup that I have not done in the past is the use of dots / periods within the local part of the e-mail addresses. For example: john.smith <at> mydomain.com. However, just to test, I went ahead and created a test account that did not have any dots in it (test <at> mydomain.com) and tried to send a message to that address, and it still hit the .qmail-default file. I've compared the /var/log/qmail/current log entries against another working server (my sitecreative.com server - I replaced the address below), and it looks normal to me: <at> 4000000047f3f4c73b12fa6c new msg 3606502 <at> 4000000047f3f4c73b1311dc info msg 3606502: bytes 1266 from qp 10840 uid 502 <at> 4000000047f3f4c808fcf104 starting delivery 5: msg 3606502 to local mydomain.com-test <at> mydomain.com <at> 4000000047f3f4c808fd0874 status: local 1/10 remote 0/20 <at> 4000000047f3f4c8099a947c delivery 5: success: did_0+0+1/ <at> 4000000047f3f4c8099aabec status: local 0/10 remote 0/20 <at> 4000000047f3f4c8099ab7a4 end msg 3606502 I've also compared the virtualdomains file, the users/assign file, rcpthosts, and everything looks pretty standard. I've got 1 main domain (mydomain.com), with 3 domains that are aliases of it. Here's my users/assign file: +mydomainalias1.com-:mydomain.com:89:89:/home/vpopmail/domains/mydomain.com:-:: +mydomainalias2.com-:mydomain.com:89:89:/home/vpopmail/domains/mydomain.com:-:: +mydomainalias3.com-:mydomain.com:89:89:/home/vpopmail/domains/mydomain.com:-:: +mydomain.com-:mydomain.com:89:89:/home/vpopmail/domains/mydomain.com:-:: . I've also checked permissions on all the directories and ensured that everything is correctly set. I'm at a loss here. Can someone help? One thing people tend to overlook is that the "."s have to be replaced
by ":"s for the .qmail file names:
     jane.doe  	->  .qmail-jane:doe
     john.d.doe	->  .qmail-john:d:doe

Yep, send and receiving messages between internally accounts is done without any troubles.

Debian 4.0 (2.6.18)- I used the patches from qmailrocks; patch 2.5.9-4, patchutils 0.2.31-3 vpopmail 5.4.25, vqadmin 2.3.7, qmailadmin 1.2.11, mysql 5.0.32-7, apache 2.2.3-4, fetchmail 6.3.6-1, perl 5.8.8-7, php 5.2.0-8, samba 3.0.24 and bind.

I think it is. At this time, no iptables nor anything that could blocking some access.

Qmail smtp slow (and standard fixes don't appear to work).

I'm getting time outs from remote clients. Sending mail from the server
itself processes quickly. I have done all of the normal fixes for slow
SMTP. I tried removing rblsmtp. I have all the ignore DNS flags set.
Below is my run file. I've also removed the rblsmtpd -rdnsbl.njabl.org
part to see if the delay was there. No luck.

The ESMTP banner showed up in much less than one second. Tried about 2-3
times, each time from a different network.

You could try to grep for "tcpserver" in your qmail-smtpd log and group by pid.
Something like
    grep tcpserver /service/qmail-smtpd/log/main/current | grep -v status | sort -n -k +4 | tai64nlocal
That way you can see how long each of the connections last. Maybe this
is not a connection problem, but a problem e.g. with a qmail-queue
standin like amavis being to slow.

Also you could check for the "tcpserver: status" lines in the log files to
see if you are running out of connection slots.
