Searching "real" flag-names?

Hi,

Is it possible to use Mulberry to search by the "real" names of
IMAP-flags, say "$Label4" for messages with the "To do"-flag set in
Thunderbird?

Mulberry is back!

Hi folks,
Finally, after much effort, I have regained the rights to Mulberry and am making it
available for free as of today. See:

<http://www.mulberrymail.com>

Some things to note:

1) It is free to anyone - no registration codes needed.

2) A new v4.0.5 version is available on the website. This simply removes the registration
requirement and updates copyright notices etc.

3) There is no formal support for the product as there was before. Instead 'community'
support via mailing lists and other resources will be used. I will make a best effort to
respond in a timely fashion to issues, but see note (4) below.

4) This effort is purely a personal one on my part - all the work I do on this is being done
in my (limited) spare time.

5) It is free but not open source. That's an issue that we can discuss moving forward...

6) Also, major new features/revisions etc are out of the question right now (though I have
a few pet projects that were being worked on before and which I will likely continue). Fixes
to existing problems will be done as time allows. Hopefully if we find a way of dealing with
issue (5) that may change - but that's really going to depend on the level of interest from
people willing to commit their own time to this as opposed to one of the other open
source equivalents.

Hopefully those of you still using Mulberry and hoping to continue to do so for a while at

Mulberry educational

Hi,

I'm new to Mulberry and only recently loaded it (4.0.4).
Unfortunately, the homepage is gone, so it's not possible to buy it.
Is there any retailer or store where it still can be bought. I work
for a university in Germany, so I do qualify for a educational license
or some of the sort. Any hints very welcome!

Thanks,
Johannes

Can't reinstall Mulberry

In spite of all my foresight in asking for help ahead of time and
saving the necessary files, I have not been successful in reinstalling
Mulberry on my new desktop computer (which, like my previous computer,
runs WinXP Pro). I saved the preferences.mbp file--in fact, I even
wound up saving the entire Mulberry folder inside Program Files--but
when I reinstalled Mulberry and moved the old preferences.mbp file
over, it seems not to recognize it. It recognizes that the program is
registered to me, but then it asks me for all the information that my
preferences files is supposed to provide. I tried two different
versions of the preferences file (one saved just by copying, the other
by the "save as" method). Neither seems to work. I tried moving over
the entire saved Mulberry folder. That didn't work either.

I'd be VERY grateful for any help in getting this sorted out.

Thanks in advance.

Joan

Where have we got to?

Where have we got to on a project to rescue Mulberry, or write its
excellect functionality into an open source look_alike?

Cyrus is working for Apple now ...

Hi,

it was my first thought when I read that Leopard Server will come with its
own CalDAV server, and just now I found confirmation that Cyrus actually is
working for Apple now:

08/04/06:

Documentation fixes.

etc.

I think that's great news!

Cheers, Sebastian

how to move Mulberry to a new computer?

Next week, I expect to get a new desktop computer. Like my present
one, it will run WindowsXP Pro. I have Mulberry 4.0.4 on my present
computer, and I'd like to move it to the new one. What do I have to
do to be sure that all my settings and preferences will be retained?
Are there specific files that I have to be sure to copy over to the
new computer? Anything else that I need to be sure to do?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Joan

I see. Actually, I seem have found a solution that works for me - with
Gmail. I am currently redirecting copies of my mail to my
Gmail-account and have set Google Talk to notify me of new mail. This
gives me sender, subject and a snippet of the message in a discrete
popup. No indication of folder, of course, but I can usually guess
that from the other information.

In fact, I am tempted to switch to Gmail completely. The way Gmail
works, the inbox can actually compensate for the lacking ability to
check for recent messages, since all new mail can appear in the Inbox
- even though it's also "filtered to a folder" (being labeled). Gmails
grouping of messages into "conversations" prevent the Inbox from being
to cluttered - and it also has the effect that new messages in any
given discussion always appear in their context even though that

I may not be understanding your question correctly, but I have dragged
several IMAP folders into my "Check Favourite" cabinet and applied an
alert to that cabinet to check every 3 minutes. Works great for me.

Would this help?

IMAP-notifier

Hi,

Has anyone been lucky enough to find an e-mail notifier that works
properly with IMAP? That is: checks specified folders and not just the
inbox?

As much as I love Mulberry, I feel that it has a long way to go when it
comes to notification of new mail (I realize that it is much more
sophisticated than probably any other IMAP-capable mailer).
