Errors reading an MH mail message when auto-fill is turned on

Running XEmacs thusly 

   xemacs -vanilla -eval "(add-hook 'text-mode-hook 'turn-on-auto-fill)"

produces this error

I could reproduce the same error with XEmacs-21.4.8, CVS MH-E and
Gnus-5.8.8. However if Gnus from CVS is used then the error
doesn't happen.

MH-E uses Gnus' MIME display code. The call to mm-display-part is
where Gnus is invoked and that itself seems fine. The contents of
the " *mm*" buffer is also consistent with the mail being
displayed.

Could you upgrade your Gnus?

who executes /usr/bin/htmlview?

I've grep'd through MH-E, GNUS and all other .el files and I can't
find what code executes /usr/bin/htmlview when I view (hit \r on) a
text/html mime part.  I want to change it to start mozilla on the file
(I don't have htmlview installed).

I believe it gets htmlview from /etc/mailcap or ~/.mailcap (if you
have one).

Yep.  Thanks!  Changing the text/html line to this:

text/html; /usr/bin/mozilla file://%s ; copiousoutput

worked like a charm.

I'll apply a fix to the XEmacs package Gnus shortly so that MH-E
current should work fine with XEmacs package Gnus (5.8.8+).
