[mew-int 2862] mew-config-alist is not documented to support bcc
2010-04-13 07:11:38 GMT
The mew-config-alist variable supports the bcc key, but that fact is not documented. This patch corrects the documentation. -Mike diff --git a/mew-vars2.el b/mew-vars2.el index 7124857..f3350cb 100644 --- a/mew-vars2.el +++ b/mew-vars2.el <at> <at> -921,7 +921,7 <at> <at> to messages and puts them to your mailbox, configure as follows: Currently, the following keys are supported: name, user, mail-domain, -cc, fcc, dcc, reply-to, organization, header-alist, proto, +cc, bcc, fcc, dcc, reply-to, organization, header-alist, proto, smtp-server, smtp-port, smtp-ssh-server, smtp-ssl, smtp-ssl-port, smtp-user, smtp-auth-list, smtp-msgid-user, smtp-msgid-domain, smtp-helo-domain, smtp-mail-from,

I will think. --Kazu

Hello, > The mew-config-alist variable supports the bcc key, but that fact is not > documented. This patch corrects the documentation. This is my intention. Since I don't recommend Bcc: in any situation, I don't touch Bcc: in the document. Thanks anyway. --Kazu
[mew-int 2866] Change of emacs state when sending mail
2010-04-14 04:33:41 GMT
Evaluating the form (unencodable-char-position 0 5 'iso-latin-1-unix 1 "100 Ω") normally returns the list (4), since capital Omega is not encodable in latin-1. However, after I use mew to send email, the form begins to return nil instead. As a result, select-safe-coding-system-interactively no longer works, which is a bit annoying when I mistakenly try to save a file in the latin-1 coding which cannot be so encoded. Here is the relevant excerpt from mew-config-alist: (default (ssl-verify-level 1) (ssl-cert-directory "~/.certs") (smtp-server "secure.math.ntnu.no") (smtp-ssl t) (smtp-port "587") (smtp-ssl-port "587") (smtp-user "hanche")) - Harald
[mew-int 2867] password always wrong
2010-04-14 08:59:00 GMT
Hi,
I'm trying to use mew to connect to my company imap email. But each time the imap server refused the connection and complained password error. I'm very sure that the password is right and it's used well in other email clients. I also faced this issue when I'm trying to send email using yahoo's smtp server. Did anyone ever face the same issue. Could anyone give any suggestions? Thanks a lot.
My mew configuration is below.
(default
(name "hu")
(user "hu")
(imap-server "xxx.xxx.com")
(imap-user "mhu <at> xxx.com")
(imap-auth t)
(imap-ssl t)
(proto "%")
(use-smtp-auth nil)
(smtp-user "mhu <at> xxx.com")
(smtp-server "xxx.xxx.com")
(smtp-mail-from "mhu <at> xxx.com")
)

I spent quite a while debugging this. The problem arises in
mew-find-cs-region (call stack: mew-charset-sanity-check ←
mew-encode-mime-body ← mew-encode-singlepart ← mew-smtp-encode-message
← mew-draft-smtp-process-message ← mew-draft-process-message).
What happens is that mew-find-cs-region runs
(apply 'set-charset-priority charset-list)
where charset-list is a humongous list (see below my signature).
Manually running
(apply 'set-charset-priority
'(unicode-bmp unicode iso-8859-1 ascii latin-iso8859-1))
(an arbitrary list snipped from the front of the really big list)
cures the problem. Until next time I send mail, of course.
