OK.

I have replaced length() with string-width() in mew-scan-get-piece().
This fixes the bug of Mew on Emacs 20.7.

Unfortunately string-width() of Emacs 21.3.50 returns a wrong number
for a composite string. So, the bug does not disappear on Emacs
21.3.50. I will report this to GNU.

The valude of mew-inbox-action-alist is good.

It seems to me that you are using Mew 3 which does not support this
feature. Please test it on Mew 4.

[mew-int 01512] 3.1 to 4.0.57 and inbox

Hello,

I have just changed from 3.1 to 4.0.57. Mew cannot see the
pre-existing messages in my inbox only new ones ( ie mail that
was downloaded by 4+ ). I tried C-u z to no avail. I opened
inbox in mew 3.1 and forewarded contents of inbox to myself in 4+
but then found that multi-burst failed.

Also what is the variable to control first line of message
display in summary mode?

Thanks for any help

Regards

Francesco

Since the format of Mew 4's Summary mode is different from that of Mew
3's, you need to type "s" + "update" to display pre-existing messages.

When I try this the following error message appears in the
minibuffer:

error in process filter: invalid character: 017460, 7984, 0x1f30

Do you have any further suggestions?

Thanks for your help

[mew-int 01515] scripting mew

Hi,

due to heavy patch floods in my inbox I woud like to script Mew to
save the mails content, apply it to a working copy, extract text for
the changelog and commit message, and perform the final SVN commit.

I read over the Mew Manual, but did not find info how to create such
scripts. Maybe someone already did s.th. simillar?

Sincerely yours (non LISP hacker ... :-(),
