mailman, postfix, amavisd-new

I realize this is somewhat off topic, but the
amavisd-new and postfix-users group are giving
conflicting info, and my hopes is that someone here
has the same setup and a solution.

I run postfix, mailman, and amavisd-new, using clamAV
and spamassassin. I noticed that when emails are sent
to a mailing list, content filtering from amavisd-new
happends BEFORE and AFTER injection causing duplicate
( sometimes way more ) emails to the list.

Thus, anyone on here using mailman, postfix,
amavids-new have any ideas on what to place in
main.cf, master.cf, or both to make content
filtering/virtual address mapping happen only once?

Mailman Domain Problem

Hi,

i have installed Mailman and i have a Domain Problem

I have a server with some Domains.

The first Domain is pxxxxxxxxx.pureserver.info

The Domain a want to have as sender in the mailinglist is
senddomain.de

If i create a new mailinglist with the webinterface, then
i can change the domain from pxxxxxxxxx.pureserver.info
to senddomain.de

After changing the prefered domain i send a e-mail to
list-subscribe <at> senddomain.de
That didnt work

If i send a e-mail to
list-subscribe <at> pxxxxxxxxx.pureserver.info
then i recieve a mail from mailman

The sender E-Mail Adress is then
list-subscribe <at> senddomain.de

I don't understand why i change the domain in the
webinterface and then the old domain where used.

nice sunday

The problem is more related to your mailserver (postfix?), because
it is responsible for the address-aliasing.

I have set up a server with multiple domains, hosted by the same
hoster (probably the same system configuration), so it might be
usefull, to discuss this directly.

Sender not receiving copy of post

Hello,

I just setup Mailman with a test list. I have subscribed myself using
several email addresses. When I post a message, I do not get a copy of the
post but the other email addresses do.

I checked the preferences and it is set to receive a copy of the post. Is
there something in the Admin area that needs to be set as well?

TIA

Notification to non-member

If a non-member posts to the list, is there a way to notify them their
message has been sent to a moderator for approval?

I have sent a post to mailing lists that I'm a member of but with the wrong
email address (by mistake) and have received such notification. One list in
particular is the list for Mondo Rescue using Mailman.

TIA

Turning off re-subscription warning

I have a mailman 2.1.5 list that has names being added one at a time by an
intern. It isn't convenient to add these addresses as a mass subscribe. They
need to be handled one at a time.

The problem is mailman generates an unnecessary and alarming "you are being
probed" message to the subscriber if the intern enters someone already on
the list. How do I turn that message off or change it's contents?

Thanks!

Robin

Hi Robin,

add_members has a "welcome-msg" option that I think will help you. The
option is described in add_members' help message.

creating new lists w/ virtual domains

[ Please CC replies to me. ]

Hi,

I've been googling for a few hours and haven't seemed to hit on the
answer.

The problem (where 'example' is my domain):

1) From http://lists.example.com/cgi-bin/mailman/create how do I make
   it actually create a lists.example.com mailing list. The mails it
   send me are all along the lines of newlist <at> example.com.

I have this in my config:

MTA = 'Postfix'
POSTFIX_ALIAS_CMD = '/usr/sbin/postalias'
POSTFIX_MAP_CMD = '/usr/sbin/postmap'
DEFAULT_EMAIL_HOST = DEFAULT_HOST_NAME
DEFAULT_URL_HOST = DEFAULT_HOST_NAME
DEFAULT_SERVER_LANGUAGE = 'en'
POSTFIX_STYLE_VIRTUAL_DOMAINS = ['lists.example.com']
add_virtualhost('lists.example.com')

And yet it just uses the version sans 'list' in front of it. Any
ideas on how to turn this off?

Thankyou,
