Mailman 2.1.12rc2 released.

I am happy to announce the second release candidate of Mailman 2.1.12.

Since 2.1.12rc1 there have been a few bug fixes and updates to the Dutch
and Catalan translations.

Mailman 2.1.12 is a minor bug fix and Python 2.6 compatibility release.

The minimum Python for this release is Python 2.4 and it is compatible
with Python through 2.6. The previous Mailman releases are not
compatible with Python 2.6.

See the release notes at
<https://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?release_id=653108&group_id=103>
for more details.

Mailman is free software for managing email mailing lists and
e-newsletters. Mailman is used for all the python.org and

Addition of British English

Hi,

I'm new here, so, hello everyone! I would like to do a British English
(en_GB) translation for mailman, and, accordingly, with the instructions
given in the wiki, I am declaring my intentions here first.

Any comments, recommendations, advice?

Thanks!

Adam

I see you've signed up as a wiki user, but you haven't edited the above
page to add en_GB.

Okay. I've added an entry in the table for en_GB. I've also added myself
as the "Champion" (hope that is correct, it seems a grand title for
somebody who, as yet, has achieved very little :-)).

I've filled in the FSF disclaimer at translationproject.org too, and
will hopefully fax it tomorrow (once I have convinced my boss that he
wants to let me use the fax machine).

Thanks for the guidance (and sorry for being a bit slow).

Yes, that is correct. Your entry looks good.

Excellent!

Pootle status

Hi everyone :)

I've returned after several months of being unable to participate due
to illness (happy to be back :D ), so I'm trying to update my existing
translations.

However, the Mailman Pootle address I have [1] isn't loading. Has it
changed?

I hope everything is going well for Mailman. :)

The pootle server wasn't running, and...

cmpalmer <at> garp:/etc/apache2/sites-enabled$ sudo /etc/init.d/pootle start
Starting Pootle daemon: PootleServer... (failed).

It must have failed after a reboot at some point. Let me look into it
and post back.

I'm not sure what it was. After a bit of poking I realized that we had
been running an alpha of 1.2.1, so I first pursued running the latest
from svn, but realized that the developers are in the middle of a
migration to django from jToolkit, and making that work for us is over
my head and probably not something you're interested in.

So... I got 1.2.1 working.

Please let me know if anything seems missing/broken. My limited
testing seems to indicate that http://pootle.metalab.unc.edu/ works as
expected.

Cheers,
