Virtual Account problem

Dear All,

I have installed maildrop 1.6.0 in my Qmail Server.

My Server consists of Qmail-1.03, qmail-ldap patch 20030301, openldap
2.0.27.
I enabled ldap function in the maildrop 1.6.0 during compliing it.
And put all required information in /etc/maildropldap.config.
I set Ldapdefaultdotmode to both

However I found maildrop could not delivery the mail properly. (said unable
to open mailbox.)
And I can't found any document for virtual user support of maildrop.

Does maildrop support virtual users?
What should I do after that?

Thanks in advance.

Maildro + MySQL + Postfix

Hi,

I installed and configured postfix + mysql. They are working fine but,
now I need to add MailDrop in order to use quota. I tried to set up it but,
when I sent an email, I received the message: "temporary failure. Command
output: maildrop: signal 0x0B". I don't know if/where I need to specify the
tables that Maildrop will use to specify the recipients. Does anyone could
help me please ?

            Thanks,

  Roberto Samarone Araujo

Re: Maildro + MySQL + Postfix

Hi,

After read the MailDrop docs, I found the responses to my questions and
applied them. Now, I have another problem, the maildrop return me "Unable to
Open Mailbox.

On the mySQL table I have:
homedir=/var/spool/postfix/virtual/domain.com/user1
                                                  maildir=teste/

     I change user/group of virtual/domain.com/user1 to vmail.

    Can anyone help me ?

                Thanks,

     Roberto Samarone Araujo

It depends on your operating system. On Linux, 0x19 is SIGXFSZ, file size
limit exceeded. That doesn't appear to be likely in this case, so you'll
have to check your operating system's documentation regarding what your
signal 0x19 means.

Patches to support virtual users/homedirectories

I recently finished an implementation of sendmail/mimedefang/maildrop
with virtual users in LDAP all mapped to a single local user. In order
to accomplish this I added some functionality to maildrop which is
included in the patch attached to this email.

In short this patch allows users to be looked up in an LDAP server and
mapped to a single local virtual user with mail delivered into virtual
mailboxes in home directories. This enables the LDAP record to remain
untouched while delivering mail to locations other than the users home
directory.

The patch adds the following configuration options to
maildropldap.config so that it can be used:

# VIRTUAL HOSTING OPTIONS
#
# map_virtual_user - if set, maps all users to the default_uid/gid
below, ignori
ng
# their uid/gid number in the ldap entry. This enables all mailboxes to
be
# owned by a single local user.
#map_virtual_user 1

# homedirectory_prefix - if set, home directories are constructed by
appending
# the uid to this prefix instead of looking them up.
#homedirectory_prefix /var/mail/virtual

# homedirectory_create - create the home directory if it doesn't exist.

Re: Error 0x19 for unknown users

Pat,

Are you using the qmail-scanner-queue to submit directly into the maildrop
filter like this post, or via the .qmail file for the domain?

I'm not running verbose_spamassassin but I'm trying to think of any
disadvantages of doing it this way rather than altering the .qmail-default file
like I've done to submit it through.

Also, I've seen recommendations of adding the exit tag but this is the first
one I've seen suggesting a firm EXITCODE=100.

As for my original error, it actually was a file limit
exceeded...my /var/spool/mail/vpopmail file had reached 2GB. Seems the
messages that couldn't bounce stayed there and piled up over time. I'd still
like to fix this so that maildrop isn't preventing messages from bouncing or
staying in my queue, and so I shouldn't have that spool file fill up anymore.

How to know ‘cc’ or ‘to’ is successful

Hi all

Is there a way to determine the ‘cc’ or ‘to’
operations are successful or not inside the maildroprc
after executing them?

I use maildrop 1.6.0 on Red Hat Linux 8.0 on Pentium
III computer.

I execute ‘cc’ inside an exception {}.

In unlikely event of file system quota full or due to
some other error, it possible to silently skip mail
copy deliveries to some or all of cc recipients.

If the ‘to’ also executed in exception {} and if it
fails, the mail may appear lost.

Thanks
Sagara
