This should work now if you put "PLAIN" into the "Methods NOT to use" text
entry in the network page.

First of all, please disregard the previous reply, I accidentally mistyped it
into a wrong bug report, sorry.

Second, I don't think Mahogany has problem with CRAM-MD5 but it is quite
possible that the server is buggy. Using at AUTH PLAIN part of the dialog, you
can see that it doesn't implement the PLAIN method correctly: the
PLAIN "challenge" must be "VXNlcm5hbWU6Cg==" (base64-encoded "Username:") and
not empty.

Seeing this and knowing how common are bad CRAM-MD5 implementations, I have
good reasons to think that it gets it wrong too. If you can provide any
information contrary to this or a way to test it, please reopen the bug.

Otherwise I can only advise you to disable *both* PLAIN and CRAM-MD5 auth
methods (this is possible in the newest M version in the network page).

Ok, now it does work. It should be noted however that it is a bug in Exim 3
(corrected in Exim 4 BTW) which implements PLAIN SASL method incorrectly. To
make M work with Exim 3 (and qmail and other broken servers) you must
explicitly disable PLAIN authentification which it is now possible to do in
the "Network" page of the options dialog.

I found the real reason and fixed it. It was indeed related to clicking
quickly, but the problem was in M, not the system.

Sorry, I did. cvs was so awfully slow yesterday night that it kept timing
out all the time and I didn't notice that this commit timed out.

I did check in all the files now so it should work (well, compile).

 Thanks,

Consistent crash w.r.t. automatic external editor

Hi all,

I have a consistent way to crash M. Create a new message, making sure
that 'automatic use of external editor' is on. Whenever the mouse enters
the body part of the window, the external editor is launched. Ok.
Close this (empty) message.

Create another one. Don't hover over the body part yet. Put something in
the subject. Close this message, which should trigger the warning dialog
that offers you to save the message as draft.

Drag this dialog box so that it is completely over the body part of the
message. Click 'No', to not save the message as draft. The external
editor is launched but the message has already been closed. Whenever you
close the editor, M crashes.

Do you get the same behavior?
