one-way synchronization

Hello,

how can I force offlineimap to do only a one-way synchronization? I want
to use it for backup purposes, that means download all emails from IMAP
server to local folders on the first run and update it (server->local)
on the next runs. But I *never* never want offlineimap to change
anything on the server, even when there is some involuntary change with
my local folders. I was looking for some "read-only" option, but I have
found none. I don't want to hope that there is no change with local
folders, I want to be sure it can't go wrong (at least from my side).
Can you give me an advice?

Thanks,
Kamil

Although having added "quick=0" to both repositories the read status is
not being synced. What am I doing wrong?

I am sorry. Obviously I have been a bit too quick. Now it works. It was
the "quick" parameter.

Thank you very much,
Mészi.

Remotepassfile encrypted?

Hi again,

I am wondering if there might be a possibility leaving the password in
an encrypted form rather than having it written readable.

I would like to set up some configuration "web page" that makes it
possible for the user to store a changed password when it was changed
within GoogleMail. Therefore some PHP capable web service would have to
have the possibility to read/write in the folder where the password is
stored.

It might be better to leave it encrypted then, right? Is offlineimap
able to read/decrypt passwords stored the way I intend to have it?

CU,
Mészi.

Kamil,

This was discussed recently on the list, where the recommendation was actually
to look into other tools better suited to the task of email backup. Have a
look at the following thread:

http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.mail.imap.offlineimap.general/1617

Cheers,

Paul

Many authentication mechanisms require both parties to know the plaintext
password.

Re: Unsubscribe

I show you managed to get unsubscribed 10 minutes after sending your

No sync anymore

Hi there,

I've been tidying up my mailbox a bit deleting email and moving them to
archive subfolders. Now offlineimap does not sync anymore, regardless if
"quick = X" is set or not. My output is as follows. Can anyone suggest a
solution?
