editing Text files with ezmlm-web

I have ezmlm-web installed and working but the drop down menu to
select a language does not show any language choices and I can't
access any text files to edit them.

Please help if you know how I can correct this situation.

Thanks,

Charles Novick

Hi Charles,

Are you referring to the interface languages of ezmlm-web?
Or do you mean the configured language of a list?

Maybe you could also provide some more details regarding your installation:
e.g. the installed version of ezmlm-idx and ezmlm-web.

regards,
Lars

PS: this mailing list is (IMO) focussed on ezmlm and ezmlm-idx. If you like,
then you could also continue this discussion on

wildcard subdomains

Hello.

How do you enable a wildcarded sub-domain ?

What I mean is, mail sent from:-

dale.charles <at> alpha.test.local

dale.charles <at> bravo.test.local

dale.charles <at> charley.test.local

so I want to allow emails from:-

dale.charles <at> *.test.local

but the '*' doesn't work.

Removing MySQL and PostgreSQL support from ezmlm-idx 6.0.0

All,

I do not wish to use the MySQL and PostgreSQL with ezmlm-idx 6.0.0.
Currently to prevent ezmlm-mktab-mysql and ezmlm-mktab-pgsql from
installing, I removed their respective entries from BIN. I read at

http://www.ezmlm.org/archive/0.444/INSTALL.idx

to edit the file conf-sub before running make. However, the file,
conf-sub does not exist in the 6.0.0 distribution nor is it referenced
in the INSTALL.idx. So what is the proper way to compile ezmlm-idx
without MySQL and PostgreSQL support?

Thanks,
Patrick

Log message "ezmlm-clean:_fatal:_unable_to_open:.../mod/unconfirmed"?

I just noticed this message occurring in my email logs connected to
ezmlm lists I run:
2007-09-15 15:57:37.298028500 delivery 27439: success:
ezmlm-store:_info:_qp_12490/ezmlm-clean:_fatal:_unable_to_open_/home/ezm

lmlis
t/nigeriahealth/hiv/mod/unconfirmed/:_file_does_not_exist/did_0+0+4/

I'm concerned about the part after "fatal...". I just noticed these
messages now, but searching my logs show them showing up in all the logs
I have, back to 13 Sept. I also notice that they seem to show up in
relation to many of the ezmlm lists I run on this server, not just to
the one user cited above.

Any ideas what's causing this? I manually created the ~/mod/unconfirmed
directories for the list of this particular user. Will this fix it?
Should I go ahead and do this for all the other lists too?

Thanks for your help and advice.

trailers not attaching ...

hello :)

this is related to:
http://www.ezmlm.org/faq/FAQ-9.html#ss9.1

i set up 3 new ezmlm lists via my qmailadmin gui. i checked the "include a trailer" checkbox for each new list.

i edited the ../text/trailer file on the server directly.
the first attempt i used the default ANSI encoded trailer file. i replaced the default one with one encoded in UTF-8 because the trailers are actually supposed to be in UTF-8 as they actually written in a non-latin-character language. neither file was attached when the email was sent.

the permissions are set to 600 on the trailer files in each list's text directory.

the owner and group of the trailer files match the owner and group of the other files related to my mail system.

an email was distributed to the lists, it was delivered fine, except for the fact that there no trailer was included.

how can i fix this?  or where can i read how to do so?  any suggestions / solutions will be greatly appreciated :)

thanks,

Retrieving subscriber list and transaction logs isn't working for ezmlm-idx-6.0.0...

One of my list owners is trying to remotely retrieve a list of e-mail
subscribers from a list that she is the moderator of. She's been unable
to do this lately, although she says that she used to be able to.

I ran some tests against a list configured the same way:

/usr/local/bin/ezmlm/ezmlm-make -dBgitmuflnrs

When I, as a moderator of the list, send an email to retrieve the
subscriber list, here is what happens:

Unfortunately, the fellow above at msn is not a moderator of the
list--he is a subscriber.

Attempting to retrieve the transaction log yields this:

From the looks of it, ezmlm is sending the log to a user of the name of
the first line in the log.

In both cases, something is mangling what ezmlm thinks is the
moderator's e-mail address.

This is with ezmlm-idx-6.0.0. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Is that the only undefined reference? If so, that makes no sense.
error_notdir is defined in error.c, which is included in -lezmlm. Were
there any other errors?

That defect will be corrected in the next release.

It is no longer needed, since *sql support is no longer built into the
binaries, but rather is available as plugins.

Don't run "make mysql" or "make pgsql".
