Web interface to MH folders ?

Hi,

as a regular nmh/exmh user, I currently deplore the possibility to
handle my mail while I am out of town and do not have access to ssh/telnet
to check mail via the command line.

IN these cases a Web-interface for mh would be great.

Does this exist already ?
Or can existing solutions be adapted for mh-folders ?

The main options I require are scan-listings for folders, delete and reply.

Thanks in advance,

  Marc Baaden

UW-imap can read MH folders, tho it doesn't maintain sequence files
properly. Drop any of the IMAP web front ends in front of that...

I use the Mozilla imap mail client, to connect to a UW imap server
running on the mail server that holds my MH folders, which I usually
read with exmh. I only do this when I need to read a .doc or .xls
attachment someone has sent. Just make sure to set up the server to use
SSL secured connections, usually on port 993.

You may want to look into MindTerm - a java based ssh applet. I use it to
access my system when on the road. I forget the url, but I'm sure a google
search will turn it up pretty fast.

That first sentance is seems unbalanced.

I've found that while uw-imap can READ MH folders, it has great
trouble doing anything that involves writing. I had to go through
several gyrations in my mail client to even get it to delete mail.
And have been unable to get even read flags to be set properly.

So, while I'm able to read the mail, i've found that it doesnt
handle any sequences, including read/unread, AT ALL.

I'm running Mail.app 1.3 (OS X, Panther) as my mail client. I'd
really love a solution to what I consider a basic problem. This
is with uw-imap 2002e, but have seen no evidence in changelogs that
this is fixed in a more recent version of UW-imap.

I'm starting to think that my only hope is that nmh gets support
for MailDir folders instead. (I'm running DoveCot with MailDir
on another server, and everything just works fine.)

Ideas?

It's at http://www.appgate.com/mindterm... The current version is 2.4.1. It
also includes SCP, SFTP, and Telnet.

I use it all day, every day and tunnel TightVNC through it. It's rock-solid.

I've been working on a webmail frontend to nmh for about a month
now. Currently one can read and delete but not post, and MIME handling
is inelegant. It does a fine job at what it does, though.

I'm willing to release it under GPL; soon, I'll put it on
sourceforge or somesuch. I've been using it daily, and I feel it's just
about ready for human consumption. If anyone on the list would like to
try it out before I widely publish it, drop me a line and I'll send it
to you.

Question about pick and sequences

I used pick to create a temporary sequence. That worked well, and the
sequence appears in the sequences window. Fine and dandy!

Now, though, I am through with that sequence, and want to delete it, but not
the messages it contains. I cannot figure out how to do that. I read Hal's
excellent dissertation on the wiki, and looked through the help.

Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Thank you.

You're looking for the "mark" command. From man mark:

the command `mark -sequence foo -delete all' deletes the
sequence "foo" from the current folder.

Looks like I need to add a bit to the Wiki.
