Registration is now open for the next Exim course to be held in
Cambridge (England) in July. Please see

http://www-tus.csx.cam.ac.uk/courses/exim/

for details of the course, cost, registration, etc. This is a repeat of
the course that was given last year and the year before. It is not a new
course, though there are different external speakers.

The future maintenance and development of Exim

About 6 months ago I said that I was planning to start a discussion
about the long-term future of Exim's maintenance and development. The
time has now come.

Some discussions have already happened among some of the interested
parties, and action is happening to set up a more formal Open Source
development project along the lines of many others. Meanwhile, I have
written a document about all of this, and invite people to read it and
give feedback if they want to. The document is available as a PDF file
at

  http://www.cus.cam.ac.uk/~ph10/doc002.pdf

We have set up a new mailing list for the discussion of Exim
development, and for the use of developers. It is exim-dev <at> exim.org, and
you can subscribe to it in the usual way. I have set the Reply-To: field
of this posting to exim-dev <at> exim.org so that further discussion happens
there.

Please do NOT start a big discussion about this on exim-users. That list
is already busy enough with day-to-day discussions. It is never
appropriate to send a message to both lists.

I am still trying to catch up with all the fixes, tidies, and patches
that accumulated as a result of my being away. I want to get the next
release out before the end of the month. Therefore, I won't be spending
much time responding to the feedback just at the moment.

New Exim Monitor Software

Hi,

I have recently written a GNOME exim monitor in python, with realtime status graphs, log browsing,
hierarchial message lists and a GUI interface to common message actions. Its still in beta, and i would
greatly appreciate if anyone would be willing to try it out and give me some feedback.

you can download it at:
www.htgresearch.net/pyeximon-0.5.tar.gz

it requires python-gtk and python-numeric.

thanks,
moe

Subject: Registration Open For US Exim class in Rhode Island
Bcc: kmb <at> kmb.com

Fellow Exim Administrators;

After receiving sufficient feedback on an Exim Class here in the
US, Philip has agreed to hold a class here in June. The course content
and schedule have been posted at http://www.exim-users.org/
In order to register, follow the link to the secure registration page.

The registration process will be a somewhat manual one. After
completing the registration form, the resulting data will be reviewed
and an acknowledgment form will be sent to you via email within a few
days.

The course costs are in line with the relative costs for the UK class,
and will be $625.00 for the three days and will include all breakfast,
lunch and dinners.

Rooms will cost $100 per night and each room has two double beds if you
want to bunk up with someone to cut costs. The booking of rooms will be
handled by the Conference Center directly. The details of the room
arrangements will be included with the confirmation information.

Cancellations cannot be accepted after Friday April 30th, but
substitutions can be made at any time.

Exim 4.31 released

I have just put Exim release 4.31 on the primary ftp site:

  ftp://ftp.csx.cam.ac.uk/pub/software/email/exim/exim4/exim-4.31.tar.gz
  ftp://ftp.csx.cam.ac.uk/pub/software/email/exim/exim4/exim-4.31.tar.bz2

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This release fixes a number of bugs and also contains some new features. As
usual, all changes are in the doc/ChangeLog file and new features are described
in the doc/NewStuff file. See also the README.UPDATING file for changes that
might impact on some installations. The manual has *not* been updated.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The primary ftp server is in Cambridge, England. There is a list of mirrors in:

  ftp://ftp.csx.cam.ac.uk/pub/software/email/exim/Mirrors

The distribution files are signed with Philip Hazel's GPG key; the signature
files are in the same directory. The MD5 hash codes for the distribution files
are:

1bbc5823cd32d5a00175f32de104503f exim-4.31.tar.gz
bebc828a649233db271c37e5f1015989 exim-4.31.tar.bz2
