Sorting rules for folder

Hello:

I want to write a sorting rule for an IMAP folder in Becky, a folder in
which emails sent from gmail on my computer or from gmail on my iphone
end up and the, according to my rule, will be moved to a non-IMAP Becky
folder.

I understand that I must have a manual rule, since this is an IMAP
folder ("messages are already there", in other words, they are not
coming in or going out).

However, I do not understand the box "Sorting Rules for This Folder".

Are the only targets for sorting "Received Mail" or "Sent Mail"? What do
these two labels denote?

Thanks for some explanatory words.

Gmail security

Hello:

I am experimenting with gmail (one of my old spam problem solution
attempts), and created an IMAP mailbox in Becky for the gmail address.
It works fine now, but before it did, I got a message that my email was
blocked from Becky due to unsatisfactory security. The explanation is
here:

----------------------------
My client isn't accepting my username and password

If you're repeatedly prompted for your username and password, or if
you're getting an 'invalid credentials' or 'web login required' error,
make sure your password is correct. Keep in mind that passwords are
case-sensitive.

If you’re sure your password is correct, you can try these troubleshooting tips:
•	If you've turned on 2-Step Verification for your account, you might need to enter an App password.
•	Sign in to your account from the web version of Gmail at https://mail.google.com. Afterwards try
accessing your messages in your mail app again.
•	If you're still having problems, visit http://www.google.com/accounts/DisplayUnlockCaptcha
and sign in with your Gmail username and password. If necessary, enter the letters in the distorted
picture.
•	Your mail app might not support the latest security standards. Learn how to allow less secure apps
access to your account.
•	Make sure your mail app isn't set to check for new email too frequently. If your mail app checks for new
messages more than once every 10 minutes, the app’s access to your account could be blocked.
•	Try changing your password according to our tips on creating a strong password.

FRGmail plugin question

Hans and I received a nice letter from a gentleman suggesting that we might like the FRGmail102.zip plugin.
He mentioned it is good for POP Gmail and for SMTP server use, but he also stated that his knowledge of
English may prohibit explaining the plugin. I really appreciate his writing to us, so I am hoping that
someone here may have used the plugin and can advise on what it does. Thanks much,
david

becky 2.70 here

I just noticed that 2.70 is available.

Ver.2.69 -> 2.70 (2015/1/8)
- BUGFIX: When IMAP session is unexpectedly disconnected, sent messages
don't appear in Sent folder until the user explicitly logs out and in
  to the IMAP4 server.

Maildir or mbox

Hello again:

I am going to write a so called cron job (to teach SpamAssassin what is
spam and not spam), and I have two programs, one for the Maildir format
and one for the mBox format. Webhostinghub is my mail host, and they did
not know which format I should use. I can probably nag them to find out,
but let me ask here first.

How do I find out what format to use? Just a tip and I'll do the legwork,
of course.

Thanks,

Hans L

iMap setup > Account

Hello:

In Tools > Mailbox Setup> Account tab you find, when you have set "Mail
Protocol" to "IMAP4rev1", these two settings that do not seem to be
covered in Help:

[ ] Connect on Starting Program

[ ] Connect on Opening Mailbox

Being totally new to IMAP, and starting to set it up for my wife, I
wonder what it means to leave these unchecked vs checking them.

Thank you for your help.

License question

Hi,

a small company asks me, how many licenses they need. They have 1
E-Mail-address. Usually the boss is doing the E-Mails, but sometimes
employees help. It should be possible to use Becky on 10 computers.

The help doesn't tell much about business use. I'm not sure - is 1
license enough? I'm afraid, they need 10 licenses, is that right?

| - Per User
|
| One license is granted to one 'user'. If a user has multiple mail addresses or multiple personal
computers, the user is permitted to install and use multiple copies of this software for his/her own use.

| - Per Install
|
| One license is granted to single personal computer nonsimultaneously used by multiple people

Spam & SpamAssassin

Hello:

I am reading http://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=188 and
http://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=358 to teach SpamAssassin about
my spam via a so called cron job, one URL being for the mbox format and
the other one for the Maildir format. SpamAssassin is on the server of
my web.mail host (WebHostingHub).

Since I am not sure about if they are talking about mbox/Maildir format
on the server or in Becky, I though I would ask you guys and gals (very
few gals here) if you would know.

Best regards,

Hans L

PS. As an aside, not sure if I am sliding (without knowing it) towards
my own server or not :-)

Forward to another email address

Hello:

What I tried to copy to the clipboard when it did not work was Help >
Filtering : Edit Rules, where it talks about Auto Forward and the like.

I have, however, not been able to figure out how to automatically filter
incoming mail (to my wife's email address) with a certain header to my
email address. Could someone give me a hint? Thanks!

Of course, even better would be to transfer from Becky via the local
netword from my wife's computer to mine, but that might be a little to
much to ask that anyone would know how to do that (I certainly have no
clue).

Hans L

New mail notification sound on a "per account" basis?

Hi Becky enthusiasts,

Question regarding the new mail notification 'beep' here on my 15
anniversary since becoming a Becky user. I have one Mailbox setup with
all of my accounts inside (about 15) which use roughly 5 different mail
servers. Several of the accounts (email addresses) are work related,
including this one that receives mailing list email from professional
associations... and this mailing list.

Over the years I have looked at all the plugins and native settings for
something that will enable the mail notification sound on a per account
basis. As so often happens, one gets busy doing something and inevitably
you often miss/don't notice for quite some time, an important business
related email. If I turn on the global notification sound, it will 'beep'
everytime there is a message on any one of the mail servers, and this
particular 'mailing list' email address gets about 100 emails per day,
so Becky is consistantly 'crying wolf'.

Is is possible to have the mail notification sound only beep when it
comes in on say my 'orders' email account (address)? Or is something to
contact Carty about as a new feature?

Thanks for any advice. :-)
