Stuck in Outbox

Hello:

Quite often now, when I have composed a message and clicked Send, Becky
starts checking for incoming mail and then forgets to send the message in
the Outbox. Not aware that I have changed anything, but maybe I have, or
perhaps I should check something that is not checked, although I cannot
figure out what.

Any thoughts?

Sorting address book

I have a problem with my address book with about 10 entries at the end
which are not sorted in alphabetical order and can't see how to sort
the address book. I have tried clicking on the column header but these
addresses still stay out of order.

Off Topic: Vivaldi Browser

I know, this isn't about Becky, but this new browser: http://vivaldi.com looks interesting. Very crisp
and fast and the toolbar changes color depending on the website. I like that. But it's new and I'm hesitant
to put much effort into using it. I am curious if there are any other opinions yet. I think this is being
developed by a former key person from the Opera browser, but I have no information on that. An email
component is in the works, but I'm not interested in that. My regular browser is Maxthon, but I'm always
curious about new "stuff". Any observations?

Why did I suffer so?

When I'm in my bedroom I use a laptop, a Yoga 2 with its high resolution
screen.

When getting HTML email the text is really small in Becky. I've been
suffering with this until today. It finally occurred to me that with
web pages I just hit Ctrl and use the scroll wheel to increase text size.
Tried this in Becky and it works. Just do it on one email and it lasts
the entire session.

Icons are still tiny, though...

becky help updated 2.70

My Becky help file has been updated at http://davidskirk.org/becky/

Nothing major, since there have been no feature updates. This update is mostly cosmetic, but includes:
1. the recent tip posted here about using the Filter Manager to set different sounds for different accounts
2. updates to show the IMAP account setting options that have been missing
3. the mouse rightclick now works while the helpfile is active, but the copy feature is disabled (although
it still appears on menu).

Sorting rules for folder

Hello:

I want to write a sorting rule for an IMAP folder in Becky, a folder in
which emails sent from gmail on my computer or from gmail on my iphone
end up and the, according to my rule, will be moved to a non-IMAP Becky
folder.

I understand that I must have a manual rule, since this is an IMAP
folder ("messages are already there", in other words, they are not
coming in or going out).

However, I do not understand the box "Sorting Rules for This Folder".

Are the only targets for sorting "Received Mail" or "Sent Mail"? What do
these two labels denote?

Thanks for some explanatory words.

Gmail security

Hello:

I am experimenting with gmail (one of my old spam problem solution
attempts), and created an IMAP mailbox in Becky for the gmail address.
It works fine now, but before it did, I got a message that my email was
blocked from Becky due to unsatisfactory security. The explanation is
here:

----------------------------
My client isn't accepting my username and password

If you're repeatedly prompted for your username and password, or if
you're getting an 'invalid credentials' or 'web login required' error,
make sure your password is correct. Keep in mind that passwords are
case-sensitive.

If you’re sure your password is correct, you can try these troubleshooting tips:
•	If you've turned on 2-Step Verification for your account, you might need to enter an App password.
•	Sign in to your account from the web version of Gmail at https://mail.google.com. Afterwards try
accessing your messages in your mail app again.
•	If you're still having problems, visit http://www.google.com/accounts/DisplayUnlockCaptcha
and sign in with your Gmail username and password. If necessary, enter the letters in the distorted
picture.
•	Your mail app might not support the latest security standards. Learn how to allow less secure apps
access to your account.
•	Make sure your mail app isn't set to check for new email too frequently. If your mail app checks for new
messages more than once every 10 minutes, the app’s access to your account could be blocked.
•	Try changing your password according to our tips on creating a strong password.

FRGmail plugin question

Hans and I received a nice letter from a gentleman suggesting that we might like the FRGmail102.zip plugin.
He mentioned it is good for POP Gmail and for SMTP server use, but he also stated that his knowledge of
English may prohibit explaining the plugin. I really appreciate his writing to us, so I am hoping that
someone here may have used the plugin and can advise on what it does. Thanks much,
david

becky 2.70 here

I just noticed that 2.70 is available.

Ver.2.69 -> 2.70 (2015/1/8)
- BUGFIX: When IMAP session is unexpectedly disconnected, sent messages
don't appear in Sent folder until the user explicitly logs out and in
  to the IMAP4 server.

Maildir or mbox

Hello again:

I am going to write a so called cron job (to teach SpamAssassin what is
spam and not spam), and I have two programs, one for the Maildir format
and one for the mBox format. Webhostinghub is my mail host, and they did
not know which format I should use. I can probably nag them to find out,
but let me ask here first.

How do I find out what format to use? Just a tip and I'll do the legwork,
of course.

Thanks,

Hans L
