SLIME: Invalid character

Hi,
I've just updated SLIME (via the latest Quicklisp, 2012-04-07).
Now when I try to start SLIME (M-x slime), I get nowhere. This is the
relevant content of the Emacs' *Messages* buffer:

(Loading
/home/giov/.quicklisp/dists/quicklisp/software/slime-20120407-cvs/slime.el
(source)...
Loading cl-macs...done
Loading cl-seq...done
Loading derived...done
load-with-code-conversion: Invalid character: 12362, #o30112, #x304a

thanks,
gg

Re: SLIME: Invalid character

The source now contains unicode charactets for testing. I'll fix it once i get home.

Sorry,ach.

I think I've fixed it. But what version of Emacs are you using? Because
I didn't encounter such an error. Do you have any funny customizations
which might cause Emacs to be more strict?

I'm using Emacs 22.2.1. I know it's pretty old now (it's on Debian
"Lenny"), but I've reported the issue anyway since SLIME is declared to
work even with Emacs 21.
By the way, here's a blog post from a japanese guy with the same problem
(I can't read japanese, but the google-translation helps):
http://shingosprogrammingblog.blogspot.it/2012/04/slime.html
He's got Emacs 22.2.1 too.

Unfortunately, not yet. I've tried with the latest version (slime.el
1.1397), and it gives the same error.
