Joining a list of strings around a given delimiter is
trivial in Perl.  Here is the recipe to do it in Common
Lisp:

(format nil "~{~A~^delimiter~}" (list 1 2 3))

This could appear in the chapter about string
manipulation or if you have a chapter about format, it
could go there.
