It didn't disable HDCP here. It may do so for someone, maybe for an
old firmware version, maybe for future firmware. I figured the option
is there for a reason. It could just be for people that paid for the
Sony PS3 development kit, and they aren't allowed to discuss it.

Re: [ydl-gen] Any luck with MythTV on PS3

Thanks Brian for the info. I will cruise around the
forums to see if has been progress. I want to see if I
can get it up and running. I have a Haugpaugge(whoever
they spell), USB2, that according to the MythTV
website, is compatible with it. Now, all I need to do
is get it running on the PS3, and go from there. I
would be nice, if on the PS3 side they would offer
support for this. That would be real integration. I
currently use it on my laptop, but want to see how it
looks for the PS3 on YDL. Since, my wired connection
is having problems(I bridge it from my laptop), and
there is no wireless yet, I am having to transfer all
the files and dependencies from my flashdrive. Which
is why I need a lot time. Please keep me informed, and
any advice would be appreciated.

This list is not as well traffic'd as yellowdog-general which often supports
"devel" discussions. I have CC'd that list in order to gain the attention of
those who may assist.

[ydl-gen] My gcc3.4.4 installation screwed up on ydl4.1

Hi List,

I am running YDL 4.1 on Power Mac G5 dual core, verything runs perfect
till I broke the gcc installation :(. Let me tell you what happen:

I downloaded the clamav-0.88.7 source package and compiled it, it
installed successfully, but when I run clamd, I got
"/usr/local/lib/libclamav.so.1: R_PPC_REL24 relocation at 0x0ff8e5a0 for
symbol `fwrite' out of range" error. then I google searched this error and
found http://lurker.clamav.net/message/20050201.205912.338909c7.en.html.

My stupid is that I ran the yum remove gcc.ppc, it also remove some
dependency packages which I did not wrote down. Now when I run yum install
gcc.ppc, the gcc got installed, but it won't compile any source file
again, it always give me error like:

/tmp/ccPuQGXU.s: Assembler messages:
/tmp/ccPuQGXU.s:9: Error: junk at end of line, first unrecognized character is ` <at> '

Yes, I just downloaded gcc source and recompile gcc, I got the same error,
because my default gcc3.4.4 never work again. any idea to restore my
default gcc to working state :), I don't want to reinstall OS because I
already got too much work on this mache.

Re: [ydl-gen] [SPAM] Re: My gcc3.4.4 installation screwed up on ydl4.1

Hi Joshua:

He meant that you download the source for gcc itself and compile it
from scratch.

My own suggestion varies from that however. The gcc which is current
is not the same as the gcc which came with YDL 4.1. To remain
consistent with YDL 4.1, it may be better to reinstall all of YDL 4.1
(or just those packages of YDL 4.1 which you actually use). You
still have the YDL 4.1 CDs somewhere. Of course, you could also
reinstall the gcc which came with YDL 4.1 using rpm to pull the
appropriate packages from the CDs but it just may be simpler to do a
full reinstall.

At least, then you'll know absolutely that you have a complete
working set of YDL 4.1.

Best wishes.... Derick.
