It looks like slow motion for me. I think its somewhere it the A/V sync
code. Activating a printf around line 327 in mpeg2decoder.c gives
some strange values.

Budget Card only with vdr 1.3.4 or newer and kernel 2.6.6

Hello List,
i used kernel 2.4.22 before and want to change to 2.6.6.
In the vdr directory i changed in Make.config the DVBDIR=/usr/src/linux which
points to the 2.6.6 kernel sources and headers.
The needed modules for vdr like videodev, evdev the frontend and so on are all
present like on the 2.4.22.
I compiled vdr and its plugins and started ./vdr -Pxvxine because i only use a
budget card witout mpeg2 and xvxine is the output device. This worked in
2.4.22 without problems. Now there i a OSD Message "Channel not available" on
start, no channel is available. I think its a driver Problem, vdr can't
connect to the DVB. The plugin seems to work, because the OSD is visible.
What is needed to switch to 2.6.x, is it better to install the newest CVS
Driver Sources ?
THX
  Thomas

Re: Budget Card only with vdr 1.3.4 or newer and kernel 2.6.6

Hi Thomas,

Are you using a sysfs-only 2.6er Kernel? If yes you must use my pre_patch
for sysfs support, which needs some more work.
Else enable devfs support too.

Please run:
ls -Rl /dev/dvb

Do you have a rough idea of how far we are from a 1.4.0 stable release ?
1 month, 2 months, 6 months, 1 year ?

Re: Titming problem? Subtitles with dvd-plugin with xine

Hi Reinhard,

I did apply Sven's patch to xine. Do i need to enable something in the
dvd-plugin too?

Thanks for a great plugin!

Does the dvd-plugin use cDevice::GetSTC()? Since release 0.3.3 the reported
values are correct and tell you the timestamp of the image currently shown

OSD issue changing language in vdr-1.3.9

Hi,

i was playng with vdr-1.3.9 options and i noted than if i cycle between
several languages to choose one, the bottom line of OSD change its
"spacing" slightly, i know this is needed for different charsets and
once chosen the language everything goes ok after closing and reopening
OSD, but maybe it coulde be a little more pleasant if this "spacing"
problem does not occur.
This is not a serious problem, i wanted just to point it out.

Bye and thanks again,
   ANgelus.

I've noticed that, too, but since switching the language is something
most VDR users probably do only once I think we can live with it.
Maybe I'll look into this again once the important things are done ;-)
