UML Error

Hello,

I have not run a UML on this before before. Any ideas what's wrong?:

No, it means Jeff has to fix UML to check for cmov without falling to
pieces.

:-)

I'm afraid Ian has to do it. Jeff might not even have a P5 box.

uml-patch-2.4.19-33

The big news in this patch is that I think I fixed the problems with running
JVMs under UML. I had already fixed something between -17 and -32 which
made JVMs sort of run.

There was still a problem with one of the Tomcat demos. I tracked that down
to SA_SIGINFO signal frames not being identical to the host. This is fixed
and all of the stuff that comes with Tomcat now runs.

There were a bunch of other bugs fixed, including
signals are now re-enabled after an interrupt in userspace
SIGIO is now blocked at the start of main, so rebooting UML should
no longer crap out with "IO possible"
the problems with gdb symbols being undefined was fixed
fixed a memory corruption bug in the gdb xterm initialization

cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep cmov

See if the system has cmov support.

[uml <at> gatekeeper:~]$ cat /proc/cpuinfo |grep -i cmov
[uml <at> gatekeeper:~]$

Does this mean it's impossible to run a UML on this box?

Thanks.

Yup, that's right. I've been holding off fixing this problem because it
requires bumping the COW version number.

Well, that's all the right information. This looks like memory corruption,
so could you enable CONFIG_DEBUG_SLAB and see if that makes it panic any
earlier?
