My first guess would be that you aren't using an X font server, and that
the 5250 emulator can't find a font it needs (perhaps the
lucidatypewriter font).

Try enabling the XFS on the server (comment out "nolisten tcp" in
/etc/X11/fs/config, restart xfs, and then set USE_XFS in lts.conf).

buildk

Hi,

I am re-create the initrd and vmlinuz for kernel 2.6 using the ltsp_initrd_kit
tool. I managed to create the new initrd but during the boot time, I received
the following msg:

modprobe e100
modprobe: QM_MODULES: %m

modprobe: QM_MODULES: %m
modprobe: Can't locate module e100

the module e100 is in the initrd ramdisk. What does the above error msg mean?

Thank you.

cheers,
Yong Wei

Re: Monitor Blank

It sounds like your 15" monitor doesn't support the resolution and or
refresh rate you're trying to display. Try setting "X_MODE_0 = 800x600"
in your lts.conf-file for that client and see if that works.

Re: buildk

Teh,

the buildk and initrd_kit are for LTSP-3 and a 2.4 kernel.

There's lots of changes that need to be made to support a 2.6 kernel,
including an updated set of modutils.

Kernels for LTSP are now built with the LBE.

GX280 NIC Detection

I am trying to use LTSP on a gx280 and the NIC is not being
autodetected. It is a broadcom nic. I built in all of the broadcom
drivers into the kernel that were available and still no go any ideas?

Re: GX280 NIC Detection

If it has the broadcom gigabit cards try adding NIC=tg3 to the end of
the config file in /tftpboot/lts/2.6.9-ltsp-3/pxelinux.cfg/ (and
obviously tell your dhcp server to boot the 2.6 kernel). I used a stock
kernel for the SX280s and it worked ok.

Thanks

Jake
