In dmesg file I found a printout that told me to send a mail to you.

kernel told me to mail this address :)

WARNING: unexpected IO-APIC, please mail
to linux-smp <at> vger.kernel.org

Okay guys, this is the first time i've noticed this. I was just looking
through /var/log/messages because my kernel (not the one that produced the
above message) just oopsed and for some reason it didnt bring down the
machine completly like the other 99% of times it has...

My question is, i assume you'll want to know a few things about my hardware,
so what do you want me to give you.

I can give you /var/log/messages and lspci output. Also, i might as well
explain some problems i've been having which this may be related to.

The problems are constant oops, not of the latest type, but the type where a
request for a virtual address could not.. something or other :) acutlay i
have a dmesg out put with that in it if you want that too. But normaly these
oops cause a complete halt of the system and for some reason it loves to
have them when compiling large apps such as mplayer or firefox... it loves
firefox...

anyhoo... What do you want from me now if
anything?

2.6.7 ACPI OOPS (random dereferrencing)

Hello!

Booting 2.6.7 on a machine, stops after "ACPI: Subsystem revision
2004????" with a derefferencing NULL at random addresses. First was
00000292, then 00000084. This changes after every reboot.
With "acpi=off" it boots ok (but without sibling cpu).

2.6.5 was ok.

I can try some patches if you want.
Thank you.

Is this 2.6.5 or 2.6.7 ?

You wanted to include 2.6.5 with ACPI on I guess...

I didn't captured the 2.6.5 output.
