There's a problem with the locations of the mimeType file that I cannot resolve. Sigh. Thanks, Rich

You can install directly this binary from the salix-13.37 repo: http://download.salixos.org/i486/13.37/salix/xap/mozilla-firefox-9.0.1-i686-1gv.txz deps: http://download.salixos.org/i486/13.37/salix/xap/mozilla-firefox-9.0.1-i686-1gv.dep Or, if you prefer, you can write your slackbuild based on the SLKBUILD: http://download.salixos.org/i486/13.37/source/xap/mozilla-firefox/ ++ fredg 2012/1/14 Rich Shepard <rshepard <at> appl-ecosys.com>: > On Mon, 9 Jan 2012, Willy Sudiarto Raharjo wrote: > >> >> http://martinusadyh.web.id/2012/01/07/building-mozilla-firefox-9-0-1-for-slackware-13-37/ >> Sorry, it's in Indonesian, but you will understand by just looking at the >> code snippet > > > Willy, > > Unfortunately, the snippets there don't match what's in the 13.1/32-bit > SlackBuild script. That did the trick. Many thanks, Rich

Hi,
I don't see any reason why you shouldn't use the SlackBuild or even the binary package from 13.37 or current .
As far as I know, there is no change in the structure of the package. (except the version of course)

The installed version of firefox is 3.6.22 while mozilla has released 9.0.1. Can I upgrade using the distribution SlackBuild script (currently 13.1/32-bit on this box)? Just now I checked and -13.37 has firefox-4.0 while -current has firefox-8.0.1. Folks who've keep up on the firefox version changes told me that _major_ improvements appeared in 9.x. So I'm now running 9.0.1 which is ahead of the official Slackware versions. Thanks for the thoughts, Rich

Rich,
9.0.b3 is in testing , but I don't know what the difference to 9.0.1 may be .
If that one fits , it's here :
