[sentinix-list] Dell PE1650

I'm trying to install Sentinix to a Dell PowerEdge 1650 server and the SCSI RAID container is not
recognized. I have
Redhat installed on several of these systems - it uses a driver called aacraid - so I know that Dell supports
the server
with Linux drivers. When it goes into the SMP configuration, Sentinix only sees /dev/hda which leads to obvious
problems. Is there a way to add the appropriate drivers in Windows style during the install OR do I need a
version with
those drivers added.

Thanks,

RE: [sentinix-list] Dell PE1650

OK, I think we've solved our own problem regarding the actual drivers. I'd
like to add a package to the distro, for use with this server, however I
can't find the fullsource package described on the website...any ideas?

[sentinix-list] sentinix on hardware raid

I'm new to the list and since the archive is not working I'll have to throw in a question
you've probably heard a million times.

How do I install sentinix on a server that uses hw raid ?
I tried a dell poweredge first and when I type install it says "no harddrives found".
I read somewhere that compaq smart arrays are supported so I tried a proliant but same issue.

Funny thing is this:
The log clearly shows that the array was found like it says:
Compaq SMART2 Driver (v2.4.25)
cpqarray: Device 0x10 has been found bus0 dev 1 func 0

and all the other stuff. It even detects the partitions and all that BUT
once I'm done booting /dev/ida doesn't exist. Neither does /dev/sda only /dev/hda (CDROM)
It mentiones /dev/ida in the log however. The most bizarre thing is that I cannot insmod
anything cause there is no /lib directory. Then again it looks like you don't need modules
cause the default kernel off the ISO seems to have cpqarray support build in.

I installed it on a regular desktop and I know that modules are set up later but I need the raid stuff
right away for obvious reasons.

What am i missing ?

RE: [sentinix-list] sentinix on hardware raid

We're having the same problem it seems. I can't find a valid download
location in the US for the source code either. I decided to delay installed
on a poweredge and test on a desktop IDE system first.

Did you see anything useful in the log when you attempted to install on the
Dell PE?

Re: [sentinix-list] sentinix on hardware raid

I removed the fullsource package from sentinix.org a while back ago,
unfortunatly. It ate too much of my bandwidth and others weren't too keen on
offering it. Instead, have a look at the CVS repository on berlios.de. It's
the base for the next release of sentinix. It was a long time something got
updated there, but you'll find the sources there at least.

[sentinix-list] forgot...

I forgot to mention that all tarballs are located in a rsync module at
sentinix.org.

[sentinix-list] Sentinix and Nessus from a windows client

I have the windows nessus client. Can the Sentinix box be used as a nessus
server and have the windows client connect to it? If so how can this be
done?

Yes.

On the Sentinix box, run the command nessus-adduser to create a user account
to connect with
