The screenshots on the homepage of the fedora XFCE spin are from fedora
 12. I think it would be a good idea to update the screenshots when fedora
 17 is released.

Re: Re: Request to add Fedora-it.org to Fedora Italian Communities

Hi to all,
I am Mario Santagiuliana, you can know more about me on my wiki page:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/User:Marionline

Sorry for my late to reply to Antonio email, in this weeks I have a lot of
personal things to do.
And sorry for my possible bad English.

Like Antonio said: the fedora-it.org website is born without following the
fedora project request to don't open new domain with fedora name inside and
without follow the trademark agreement or legals notice.

In Italy we have just a big fedora community website: FOL or
www.fedoraonline.it or it.fedoracommunity.org.
FOL was born a lot of years ago and in the last months we (because I am
part of the technical staff of fedoraonline.it community) also update all
the portal. We are in contact with other fedora community, especial fedora-
fr.org that help us to choose the right software to use to update our
website.

We are doing a big work to attract new users to Fedora and to Fedora
Project contributions. And in our community and staff we have a lot of great
person and fedora expert.
In our FOL active staff we are in three ambassadors (me, Gabriele Trombini
[1], Gianluca Sforna [2]). In our forum we give to users a "banner" to

Extra stuff creeping up on the website - can we clean it up?

Hi,

I noticed some cruft has surfaced on fedoraproject.org's front page.
The Installation requirements section concerns me most. I've quoted the
current text below and my suggestions for cleaning it up. Are these
suggestions okay?

---

"400MHz Pentium Pro or better processor (comparable AMD, Cyrix, and VIA
processors also acceptable)"

How about "400Mhz Intel-compatible system or better"

---

"At least 768MB memory (RAM), 1GB recommended for best performance"

Be bold. Pick one. Forcing a dichotomy on the user is putting pressure
on them that they don't need in the wake of an OS switch.

How about "1 GB memory (RAM)"

more prominent link to fedoracommunity.org

It has come to my attention that the fedoracommunity.org site is not
really discoverable from the front fedoraproject.org page. Actually,
the only way I could find is through a small "hidden" link in
http://fedoraproject.org/en/get-help header area or through
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Communicate wiki page, which is
referenced also in http://fedoraproject.org/en/join-fedora.

So, can give the link a better position within our pages?

I'd propose couple alternatives:

1. we could add a link in the "Community" section of
http://fedoraproject.org/en/join-fedora, something like "Find a local
community" with "We are everywhere, and can speak your language!" as
subtitle

2. a new "Local communities" block under "Get Interactive support here"

Of course, we can also do both :)

Cheers

G.

As sent to our mailing list,
now that we've defined the default download to x86_64, we probably need to
 update systems requirements.

We also have to check the minimal memory needed for Anaconda, as it lower
 now…

Sure, And I am not the only one deciding here.
That's why I've asked you to reply on the mailing list.

I strongly think that we can't add a link to all websites, but if all
want it on your way, you win ;-).

Better would probably for you to summarize our exchange on the list,
and we will see.
But please, do mind about the trademark agreement.

Thank you Kévin and sorry if i have not continued the discussion on this mailing list (i didn't know that my first mail was forwarded in websites ML).

Summarizing:

my request regards to add fedora-it.org (together the actual italian Fedora community) like a new Italian Fedora community.
Fedora-it.org are not still signed the trademark agreement but we will take care soon.

As i have written to Kévin Raymond, we respect the fedoraonline.it work and don't contrast it; however we (as a Fedora website in ILDN)  wish offer a further source of support, of information and a distinct viewpoint about Fedora.

I would like know what you think about and if possible do it.

Regards

Request to add Fedora-it.org to Fedora Italian Communities

Hello,

my name is Antonio and i am a Fedora italian ambassador (nickname sagitter). With others ambassadors, follow up a Fedora Forum in italian language named fedora-it.org/ where i provide technical support, report news about Fedora and FOSS world.
We would like to add this community to the Fedora Community EMEA.
How can we do that ?

Regards

Name of the blog on the planet Fedora

Hi I'm Arif,
I was one of the contributors in Indonesia community site[1]. I registered the site to Planet Fedora in the name of "Fedora Indonesia". But when I check if the configuration is correct, it turns out there are sites[2] on behalf of "Fedora Indonesia (fedora-id)". I was afraid there was confusion about this. What should we do?

64-bit and system requirements

Hi all,

On the first page of the future fpo website, the link for downloading Fedora
17 is for 64-bit version. Below this are system requirements: Pentium Pro. I
think this must be revised.

Best Regards

Checksum doesn't match

Hi !

I've tried to download Fedora 16 x86_64 yesterday, but the checksum fails:

632b2de39033ed1d4a61959c4002e07248793eff828ac5d60edbb7b5dcd7be5c *Fedora-16-x86_64-Live-Desktop.iso

I've checked in sha256, and tried only this one, from Firefox and "liveusb-creator".
Is it me, or something is broken ?
