It would be nice, if it actually worked. Does not work for me. None of the
webm-encoded videos, that come up in the search, will start playing.

OT Boot menu

I just noticed that after updating the kernel and grub a couple of days
ago, Ubuntu 11 boot menu provides boot for my Fedora 14 install on
another hard drive.
I always had this with Fedora but it seems new for Ubuntu .

If I fresh install Fedora 16 over fedora 14 will this wreck the grub
boot in ubuntu?

I'm comfortable with Fedora grub but have no idea about ubuntu boot/grub.

Haven't found any google assistance.
Can someone point me to a document and please don't say go to the ubuntu
forums, I have found no help there and I never get a response to
questions on those forums.

Thanks
Roger

I am running Fedora 16 x86_64 with Firefox 9.0.1
The site this link takes me to says my browser does not support h.264. WebM is supported.
What do I need to install To fix that?

Thanks

The site says you need h.264 OR WebM, so it supposedly works;
trouble is... how can you tell?

I successfully played two YouTube videos via HTML5 using Firefox 9.0.1.
They both played through all the way with no noticable glitches but I did
notice that full-screen mode made the video take over only the whole of
the Firefox browser window rather than the entire screen.

If you right-click on the video window while it's playing, you'll see a
menu with several options including "About HTML5". I took the presence of
that option to be proof that HTML5 rather than Flash was in use.

You really can't. Firefox uses Ogg/Theora which doesn't do H.264
because H.264 requires YAFP (yet another f*cking proprietary) codec.
Can you say "MP3"?

Your best option, really, is to use Chrome or Chromium as your
browser. They have the codec bundled in. Firefox and Ogg/Theora are
committed to open source and open standards and probably won't support
H.264 in the foreseeable future. Pity.

Find a video without ads.... Like this one....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mP39wS_FxQ

Then right click in the video and you'll notice it is not using flash...

For what it's worth, support for getting true full-screen was just added
as a major feature of Firefox 10 (released today). In a few days, that
will filter out to updates-testing, I'm sure.
