That might be the culprit, but let's explore others first.

It depends on how you installed fedora, if you used KDE Live, you get kdm,
otherwise, you generally get gdm.

I'd recommend giving kdm a whirl, create/edit
/etc/sysconfig/desktop
to contain:
DISPLAYMANAGER=KDE

Other than Mike's penchant for top-posting, I have to agree. (I put your
remarks where they belong, Mike :} ) It's not supposed to be and never
has been a big deal to add a non-kde app to the task-bar or the K-menu.

how about changing the order of the soundcard with the webcam ? Just an
edit of /etc/modprobe.conf ought to set it straight. The webcam is mono,
right? But since it is loaded first, then I would think that it is the
default sound device, being pointed to by such things as OSS
as /dev/snd. It's a thought, trouble shooting with a shotgun. Ric

And then reboot (or switch runlevels 5->3->5), simply restarting X is not
sufficient.

Audacious CD Plugin

I've noticed that neither Fedora 8 or 9 includes the cd audio plugin
with Audacious. Oddly enough it looks like there is no way to get this
plugin from either the Fedora or Livna repos. Does anyone know of a
location that has it? The plugin is libcdaudio.so. XMMS does install
this library for itself, but I haven't found a way to get Audacious to
use XMMS's copy.

/etc/sysconfig/desktop is DISPLAYMANAGER=KDE

I thought that was part of the original problem we had with with
Croquet. Avoiding the use of software OpenGL's libGL and libGLU when
you have perfectly good libGL built-in to your nVidia 5200 card.
Software=slower than hardware. So, IMHO, you need either Livna, or
whoeverelse you prefer, nVidia driver installed for Croquet or
Wonderland or SL to run worth beans. Alas, the need for speed! I'm
getting around 30 fps in Wonderland, with streaming audio. Cranking up
to videos as soon as I get the damn Xvfb issue settled. Ric

Hi;
I created a Livna account and updated the bug.

Good Read for Web Server Admins

I found this pdf written by a team at google. It's about malware
distribution and how anyone can be part of the problem. A good read in
my opinion. They don't have to compromise your web server for you to be
part of the problem. Just google search: All Your iFrames Point to Us

There is a package for it, but you probably don't want to use it. Most of
the work is going into the normal radeon driver.
