No, it doesn't. We don't have a maintainer for the Lexmark driver, so
unless someone does the work (or determines that one of the other old
Lexmark drivers works), we're not going to be able to, I'm afraid.

trying to print on HP 656c via OS X (10.7.1)

Hello,

I am desperately trying to find a way to print on an HP 656c via Gutenprint. I am running a Macbook with OS X
(10.7.1). It does not appear that HP 656c is one of the supported printers, but I am hoping against hope that
someone might know a trick or two to help me out.

Thank you so much!

I do not see a perfect match in the list of supported printers. You could try using a model such as the HP
DeskJet 850. The Draft quality resolution may not work or may not work properly, but it may get your printer working.

The other alternative would be to use the HPIJS drivers. There are Mac OS X packages available for these.
Normally they are on the OpenPrinting.org site, but that site is still down. I could transfer the
necessary packages to you if you don't find a good Gutenprint match.

The specs for this printer can be found at
<ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/pub/panasonic/business/office/spec_sheets/dp-8060_ss.pdf>. The
printer only has the Panasonic Printing System for Windows as standard. The Guenprint drivers do not
support this printer language.

You will need to determine whether the printer has the optional PCL and/or PostScript options. If it does,
you should be able to use the Generic PostScript driver or the Generic Laser Driver built in to Mac OS X.

Problem with Gutenprint 5.2.6 and Canon IP4000 Printer

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I work with OpenSuse Tumbleweed in connection with a
Canon Pixma IP 4000 printer that I drive by Gutenprint 5.2.6.
Unfortunately it is not possible, the graphics are very rich in contrast to print.
No matter whether I insert such a graphic into a document or Office Libre
wants to save as PDF and then print the print job is either
stopped immediately or it comes out a very poor print. a
An example of such pressure was bad this mail as a jpg
attached. Therefore, I would be very grateful if you could so with a
Update or the newly announced version 5.2.7
could fix. Can you tell me at what point it to the new
Give Gutenprint driver (version 5.2.7) is for Opensuse.
About a response from you I would be very happy.

Sincerely,

Peter C. Schuck

Gutenprint version 5.2.7 is provided in an non-official way
(only for testing without warranty or official support from us)
for various older openSUSE and SLE versions via the
openSUSE build service project "Printing".

Read the "Printing" project description
https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=Printing
in particular:
--------------------------------------------------------------
The "Printing" project may contain new, upcoming software.
Therefore the packages in the "Printing" project
might neither be in a stable state nor fit well into
currently installed systems.
Have this in mind if you think about to install
packages from the "Printing" project into your
currently running system.
If you do this, do not use "Factory" if your system
is e.g. openSUSE 11.3.
Use the matching packages for your particular system.
The packages in the "Printing" project are
only for testing, without any guarantee or warranty,
and without any support.
As an extreme example, this means if your complete
computer center crashes because of those packages,
it is only your problem.
On the other hand this does not mean that those packages
are known to be terrible broken but they are not thoroughly
tested so that any unexpected issue can happen.
--------------------------------------------------------------

Go to
http://software.opensuse.org/114/en

At "Search and install software packages from the
openSUSE Build Service:" enter the package name

gutenprint

and select the openSUSE version which you have.

Direct links:

http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Printing/

e.g. for openSUSE 11.4 32-bit i386 compatible computers at

http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Printing/openSUSE_11.4/i586/

Kind Regards

Re: Problem with Gutenprint 5.2.6 and Canon IP4000 Printer

Hello,
Thank you for the report.
I did notice the iP4000 was not properly supported yet, and made some changes which I believe are in 5.2.7 to try.
If there are further problems, I would like to know so that these can be taken care of as soon as possible.
