Robert, do you have any info how to make the RX520 working with Gutenprint?

Try the RX500 or RX510 driver. What happens if that's used?

Did you try some of the other drivers like IP6700?

Once I created an /etc/cups/lpotions file with cups-calibrate but I had
the strange feeling my gentoo/cups system ignores the file completely.
Or is this supposed to work in a different way?

How do I try to adjust gamma values anyway?

Kind regards, Konsti

I don't know how cups-calibrate works. I usually used the cups webfrontend.
There is an option Composite Gamma.

Thnaks for your advise regarding this, I did not now which value to play
with because the cups webfrontend has so much.

So I changed global Composite Gamma from "none" to "2.000" and the
prints are looking very very much better know! I am not satisfied with
the colors but I have to check out if calibrating or color profiles are
required now to fix this.

Composite Gamma does not influence color balance, right? But as said,
the luminance seems to be fine this way!

Request for help.

Dear Sirs,

First of all, I would like to thank you for your great efforts.

My Printer is: Canon BJC-1000SP
My OS is: Mac Leopard 10.5.7

I've downloaded Gutenprint-5.2.5.dmg

However, I could only find the driver "Canon BJC-1000 - CUPS + Gutenprint v5.2.5"

My question is: whether the aforesaid driver is compatible with Canon BJC-1000SP printer, since the driver only reads BJC-1000 excluding the "SP" suffix?

Also, do I need to use Parallel to USB converter cable in order to use this printer in Mac?

Thanks in advance.

Sincerely,

Prince.

gutenprint MP970 patch

Hello!

I've been created a patch that helps me to make good colour prints on Canon
MP970 via network with cups-bjnp. I'll be glad to know your opinion about this
patch. It contains some garbage but not much. Only my tries, which I leave due
to help you and me in later searchings. I think that 600x600dpi and
600x600dpi_high modes are the same in fact. Unfortunatly I can't print in
other resolutions for now.
