LCP terminated by peer (Normal Termination by NCP) - Please help

Hi,
I am trying to use EDGE wireless modem to create a ppp connection. The
wireless modem is an embedded Multi-tech edge modem. The problem is: after
the modem authenticates with the network, it just terminates the connection.
It acknowledges the username/password as can be seen from messages below.
Then after few seconds, it just terminates the connection without giving the
IP address. I believe the ppp-options file and ppp-chat script are fine
because those scripts works with another cingular EDGE SIM card(GC82) but
not with this particular sim card (Sierra Wireless AC860). 

The error message is: LCP terminated by peer (Normal Termination by NCP). 

Can anybody help me out by deciphering the messages below.

This is curious.  It means that you've explicitly configured pppd to
reject those options.  Why?  What's in your configuration?

Obviously, the peer is well within its rights to terminate the
connection for any reason or no reason at all.  You need to check the
logs on the peer's side to find out why it sent that message.  The
text message the peer chose to include isn't very illuminating.

One thing to try might be turning off CCP ("noccp").  Perhaps that
just confuses the peer.  (There's no reason that the perfectly normal
LCP Protocol-Reject shouldn't handle the problem as expected, but
perhaps the peer has bugs.)

Maximum simultaneous interfaces ppp

Hi
How many interfaces ppp is possible create with ppp-2.4.2 and kernel
2.4.22 ? Is 100 interfaces ppp the max limit??

There is no hard limit, you can create as many as you like within the
constraints of the amount of memory your machine has.
