Too much spam

I realize it's poor form to post just to say "I'm leaving", however
I'm going to do it anyways.

I really think the Xbox Linux mailing list is a great resource for the
users. I have appreciated and learned from it.

The amount of spam getting past my filters from this list has been
increasing recently, and the negatives of the spam have finally
outweighed the positives of the resources on the list.

I really think that going to a subscription only based list could
solve this problem, as the other lists I'm on which are subscription
based do not have the spam.

I'll check back from time to time, and if the list does become
subscription only, I'll likely rejoin.

I think in this case, the list admins are no longer interested in maintaining this list of the xbox linux
project in general. Unless we can get them to assign someone else to the list admin work, I think the list
beig changed to subscription only is not likely to happen any time soon.

Kernel 2.6 with softmod and orginal "partitions": is possible?

Hi all, I have been happy with 2.4 for the longest time.  Now, I need
to upgrade to etch and want to take the kernel along with me.  I am
wondering if it is possible to go to the Kernel 2.6 series with a
softmodded box with the orginal box "partitions" otherwise known as a
gamesave installation.  My debian subdir is installed in the E:/debian
location.

I have tried one kernel from http://xbox.coresec.de/, but I don't
think he pulled in the FATX patch, so boots then it panics since it
can't load root.  I have created a new initrd according to the wiki
http://www.xbox-linux.org/wiki/Xebian-1.1.4-Kernel-2.6-Upgrade.  I
believe that I did successfully boot a 2.6 series kernel about couple
years back, but I didn't write down what I was doing, so I lost the
steps.

So, is it possible to go to 2.6 using the configuration that I
described above?  Also if it is, is there a more up to date guide of
upgrading Xebian to it?

The bootline that I tried was a follows:
append init=init root/dev/hda2 kbd-reset xbox=hdd

I also tried to leave it as the bootline from below and that is where
it seems to go the farthest and fails to mount root.
