Yeah, you need the actual mandrake install disks for that, not the
xbox-linux one

Hey folks,

I'm brand new at this linux / xbox game and am having a spot of bother
configuring Mandrake to request its IP address from my router. I use the
Mandrake control panel but as soon as I try to save my changes it asks
me for a installation disk. I put the one that I download from the Xbox
/ linux site but it just ejects it. I have begun to download the
original install disk from the Mandrake site and will try it with that
but any help would be greatly appreciated - I am getting increasingly
fustrated!

Is it OK to download them from the website?
Do I have to rename them to 'Installation CD1 (x86) (cdRom)'? So that it
will recognise them or does that not matter?
Have you done this and does it work?

I have no experience with that mod, but, your situation dictates "you
better try"

Download raincoat from CVS and give it a go after you booted in Linux.

From memory, you need to flash an entire X2L in one go - it's not possible
to just flash half of it. You'll need to build yourself a 1 meg rom file
made from cromwell (in 1 half) and your other preferred bios (in the other).

Well, I did try to do this before and it didn't work for me, the reason
I think it didn't work though was because I had a PC-DVD drive
piggybacked on the Xbox DVD drive and it wouldn't recognize the cd, so I
just went to debian. So I am not certain but I don't think you have to
name them differently, I'm sure they are already named correctly. And
yes you can just download them off the website.

It seems that the installation hasn't finished successfully. You have to 
delete some file on your harddisk and try to reinstall.
