we could have with log-error option errorfile rotation but the problem
is that it appends .err.
ie with: log-error  = /var/log/mysql/err
it uses:

09:27:30 root[pts/1] <at> wintersunset log/mysql# lsof -c mysqld|grep log
mysqld  32191 mysql    1u  REG        3,7      1289  5219800
/var/log/mysql/err.err

ideas? (i think rotation should be restored, as the logfile could grow
too big)

it isn't rotated by logrotate, because i disabled it earlier, because
just moving file away is not rotating
the file was removed and mysqld was not forced to reopen it --- really
bad:

date: 2005/03/30 06:22:29;  author: glen;  state: Exp;  lines: +1 -1
- DO NOT logrotate /var/log/mysql/err!
 or if you do please assure it's afterwards readable too!

Po uruchomieniu aplikacji wyświetla się w konsoli tylko "memory

Usunąłem paczkę, wszystkie configi, wgrałem jeszcze raz. Dalej to
samo.
Wziąłem spreparowałem speca dla najnowszej wersji (1.1.18),
zbudowałem (o dziwo bez błędów) i wgrałem. Niestety dalej to
samo.

  Comment: there's one problem. as "If you execute FLUSH LOGS, the
error log is renamed with the suffix -old and mysqld creates a new
empty log file."

which means every mysqld instance using same error log will rotate the
same file to "-old", which means all logs are lost if instances > 1.

also the fact that rotation happens after FLUSH LOGS command could
trigger log file rotation, and logrotate program is not able to move
that to logs 'archive' dir is bad.
