Re: OpenVZ Container with a PCI ISDN Card

In theory, you should be able to. from the man pages of vzctl:

       --devnodes device:r|w|rw|none
Give the container an access (r - read only, w - write only, rw -
read/write, none - no access) to a device designated by the special
file /dev/device. Device file is created in a container by vzctl.

       --devices b|c:major:minor|all:[r|w|rw|none]
Give the container an access to a block or character device
designated by its major and minor numbers. Device file have to be created
           manually.

Subject: [Users] OpenVZ Container with a PCI ISDN Card

Hello,

I'm new to OpenVZ and wonder if it's possible to run an asterisk inside a
container and give him full access to a digium B410 ISDN Card.

Thanks a lot for any hint
Daniel

cgroups

I am trying to setup cgroups using rhel6/042stab017.1 (specifically
the blkio controller), is there any specific OpenVZ-related
documentation that describes how to get it working? I'm not sure how I
identify what tasks belong to which container and put them into the
corresponding group. It looks like I should do this in cgrules.conf
somehow.

Thanks for any help.

Strange mount problem

Hi,

I've started noticing that one of our openvz servers is doing something strange to the containers on that
box, about 90% of them are now unable to do a df to show disk space, it returns nothing. I tried upgrading to
the latest kernel version and still have this problem. The files are all there and everything seems to run
fine apart from been able to see disk space used.

[root <at> va-box /]# df
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
[root <at> va-box /]# mount
none on /dev/pts type devpts (rw)
none on /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc type binfmt_misc (rw)
[root <at> va-box /]#

Has anyone seen this before?

Regards,
Marc

vzdev-3.3.13-1.4.swsoft

Hi,

I'm looking for vzdev-3.3.13-1.4.swsoft rpm for centos5 or a source if
it exists.

It came preinstalled in centos templates I've downloaded some time ago
from http://download.openvz.org/contrib/template/precreated/, havent
checked, maybe it still comes preinstalled. I really like the elegancy
with which it solves the "udev problem".

But I have also converted a few VMs from xen and physical hosts and
need to install this on top of a CT, not in a template.

I have managed to find vzdev-3.3.13-1.3.swsoft, but this 0.01 older
version has a critical flaw: it does not provide udev so every VPS
upgrade involving something that depends on udev pulls in udev and
wreaks havoc ;)

So, where is this rpm coming from? Who is creating centos5 templates
in download.openvz.org/contrib/? Where did you get it?

Thanks and regards,
Picon

Please check failcounter for 'shmpages' in /proc/user_beancounters for this VPS.
Probably you just need to increase this limit.

thank you,

RE: shmget() failed: No space left on device

Can you still login to the vps

If so look in the directorys to see where big files are

Remove some to make spce

Look at your logs for old logs to remove

With regards

Steffam

As I understand udev replacement for Containers is vzdev and you can get it from

http://vzdownload.swsoft.com/ez/packages/centos/5/
