Network problems (git kernel 2.4.24).

Hi,

      I have network problem with openvz... I can't ping outside the HN
vith VE (i have stable openvz working with almost the same config in
another server).

openvz kernel hangs on fujitsu-siemens blade rack

openvz hangs on boot on fujitsu-siemens blade rack unit.
After keyboard and mouse is detected, system just hangs / waits for ever.

Any solution to this. System is running 64bit version of centos 5.1  
with latest stable openvz-kernel. Blade is with 12GB of memory and  
fiber switch.

Any help?

same nfs mount dir in VEs

Hi,

I have a problem with nfs mount in different VEs

for example, I have inside some VEs :

$ df /mnt/data
10.0.0.1:/nfs/data   134148096  43458560  90689536  33% /mnt/data

if I perform a reboot on one VE, on all others VEs where this partition is mounted, I got :

$ df /mnt/data
10.0.0.1:/nfs/data      -         -         -   -  /mnt/data

so the partition is still mount but impossible to do an access on.

at the same time I got this in kernel log on the host :

As soon as I removed all references of that mount point in all VEs. I can remount it, it's working.

Problems with Debian sid VE

I created a Debian Unstable (sid) VE through debootstratp, and I'm
thinking I forgot something because I get some weird behavior out of
that VE when I first start it:

1) I get a message "Mount failed for selinuxfs on /selinux".

I've grepped everything I could and can't find references to selinux

2) When I `vzctl enter <vpsid>` the root user comes out as "I have no name!"

This seems to happen to other users, if I try to su - to the once I've
vzctl enter-ed into the VE.

3) I get a SIGSEV if I try to run aptitude

The weird thing is that after a few minutes it all goes to normal,
until I need to restart the VE that is. Anyone know what I'm
forgetting, or what's going on?

I think openvz and selinux are mutually exclusive.

Can you paste what exactly happens?

Perhaps it's just bad OOM handling. Try stracing it?

Repository with pre-built kernel for debian lenny

Hello there.

I switched to OpenVZ from vserver some days ago, and want to thank
OpenVZ devs for good work.

Unfortunately I found no precompiled openvz-enabled kernels for Debian
Lenny (2.6.24). Repositories mentioned in [1] contain only stable
2.6.18. So I had to do some work, but I don't think that everyone
should %). In my repository [2] you could find kernel 2.6.24 with
featuresets openvz and xen-openvz. For now there are only i386 arch.
For those who interested in source package git-buildpackage's
repository [3] may be interesting.

Correct lines for apt:
deb http://gq.net.ru/debian testing openvz
deb-src http://gq.net.ru/debian testing openvz

Repository signed with pgp key, which could be imported by installing
gq-keyring package. I'll try to keep it up to date (synced with kernel
version in official debian lenny repository).

could you please tell me exact versions (including architectures) of the OpenVZ kernel which hangs and the
stock CenOS kernel which runs fine?

I am aware of that. The Hardware Node has no SELinux enabled. It has
been running openvz for quite some time now, but this was my first
time creating a VE with Debian Sid from scratch, i.e. using
debootstrap.
