Help Compiling NTOP on Win32

Hi all. I'm trying to compile NTOP 3.1 using Visio Studio 2003 .Net.
Obviously, I am having difficulty and I was wondering if it was even
possible to compile NTOP using Visio Studio 2003 .Net and the default
project files provided in the NTOP source.

Thanks!

Segmentation fault on Debian 3.0r4

Greetings:

This is a fresh build of ntop on a Debian 3.0r4 box. I'll run ntop with
-A first and set the admin password. Then, I'll run ntop with "ntop -u
ntop". I'll set up a netflow device, and probably within 10 minutes I
get a segmentation fault. Once I start up ntop again, all the data is
gone, and doesn't come back even after collecting stats. The web
interface just shows all stats as empty tables. After I add a netflow
device, the logs start spitting out:

  Thu Mar 3 14:33:15 2005 **WARNING** Template 0 has wrong size
[actual=8/expected=0]: skipped
Thu Mar 3 14:33:15 2005 **WARNING** Template 0 has wrong size
[actual=8/expected=0]: skipped

when I'm clicking through the stats etc. Just something unusual... gdb
shows:

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

Help installing NTOP from source on Linux fc2.

Hello,everyone.
       I enountered problems when i tried to install NTOP from source code on my system(Linux FC2). I downloaded ntop-3.0.tgz from sourceforge.net, and then did the following operations after unzipping the package in "/usr/local":
       1. changed "/usr/local/ntop-3.0" to "/usr/local/ntop"
       2. #cd  /usr/local/ntop
       3. #./configure
       4. #./make
       5. #./make install
       When i ran "./configure", there was a WARING as follows:
      *******************************************************************
*
* WARNING:  One or more items required for the xmldump plugin are
*           missing:
*
*                  xmlversion.h...no

*                  glib.h...no

*
*       ntop will run just fine without this plugin.
*
*>>>    If you want to use the xmldump plugin,
*
*???     1. Install the necessary headers and libraries.
*???    and rerun ./configure
*
*******************************************************************
        But i think that this warning is not so important, because i donot have t o use xmldump.  So i did nothing to fix this Warning.
        After i finished these steps,i ran "#ntop",but there was a fatal error occured.Please see the following:

RE: Segmentation fault on Debian 3.0r4

Probably needs the pre-NPTL fix - copy the -D from LINUXredhat8.0 line into
the appropriate LINUXdebian line in the configureextra directory, rebuild
and give it a try.

Again, this is only after I start adding netflow devices. I couldn't
find the official gdb doc that people talk about so I just did what
another guy on the list did. If more info is needed let me know.

Thanks.

Update of /export/home/ntop/ntop
In directory unknown:/tmp/cvs-serv20045

Modified Files:
	address.c ntop.c pbuf.c webInterface.c
Log Message:
Minor cleanups of thread messages - all should now be tagged "THREADMGMT",

Re: Segmentation fault on Debian 3.0r4

I have 3.1 and there is nothing in the LINUXredhat8.0 script except:

#!/bin/sh

echo " Setting RedHat 8.0 specific flag values"

After searching I found a post you made about this and added the CPP
flag (the stuff you talk about is in CVS but not in 3.1 yet apparently)
to LINUXdebian.

Apparently configure picked up that flag:

Host System Type        : i686-pc-linux-gnu
Preprocessor (cppflags) : -DLINUX -DFORPRENPTL -I/usr/local/include
Compiler (cflags)       : gcc -g -O2 -I/usr/local/include -Wshadow
-Wpointer-arith -Wmissing-prototypes -Wmissing-declarations

make; make install

chown -R ntop.ntop /usr/local/ntop/share/ntop

then:

RE: Segmentation fault on Debian 3.0r4

Need the output <at> the time of the segv...

(gdb) bt full

plus judicious show threads and show stack ... That way you see where the
failure really occurred...
