RE: (was Sparc Sol9 patches)

Well, smack me with the silly stick, it's patch <at> ntop.org not patches...
doh!!

Looks reasonable, but since that's Luca's baby, I'll defer to him...

ntop current cvs on solaris 8

Folks,

I had a miriad of problems with the stable 2.2c on solaris 8 and therefore
decided to attempt to compile the current cvs. I noticed that most of my
issues have been resolved with the current cvs, but I am now getting the
following error when make is compiling netflowPlugin.c from the cvs on 1
Sept 03. Anyone who has any recent release of ntop working under solaris 8,
please drop me a note and let me know which version it was.

Thanks Brett

I'm also seeing the identical netflowPlugin.c make errors while attempting
to compile it on RedHat 9.

that this sounds like a splendid idea (partic since the FreeBSD pthread
lib seems at least partly broken).

It's also in a FreeBSD package.

Unfortunately, I am not sure if I can buil ntop with it without some
help.

After building ntop (putting in the symlinks for libpthread as suggested
by the README.FreeBSD) it SEGVs

Re: Re: R66TXWB (FreeBSD web server death)

I've gotten a smidge further - in config.h, comment out the HAVE_SEMAPHORE_H line, but it still doesn't work.

Worse, because lthreads uses separate processes (vs. FreeBSD's threads), it's hard to debug.

RE: ntop current cvs on solaris 8

There's no asHash on line 427:

      if((sport != 0) && (dport != 0)) {
        if(dport < sport) {
          if(handleIP(dport, srcHost, dstHost, len, 0, 0, actualDeviceId)
== -1) {
>>>>        if(handleIP(sport, srcHost, dstHost, len, 0, 0, actualDeviceId)
== -1) {
              if((dport == myGlobals.netFlowInPort) || (sport ==
myGlobals.netFlowInPort)) {
                  flowIgnoredNETFLOW++;
              } else if(min(sport, dport) <= 1023) {
                  flowIgnoredLowPort++;
                  flowIgnoredLowPortBytes += len;

It sounds like you've got a comingled copy via the cvs. If you have a
branch checked out, and do a co from the main into that directory, cvs tries
to merge the changes. Bad idea. Do a CLEAN checkout.

This was a downloaded .tgz snapshot from http://snapshot.ntop.org/ (31 Aug
if I recall correctly). Is there a problem with these?
