As this driver doesn't seem to be useful in your case, you may just want
to excluding it by booting with denymods="ehci-hcd". Cf:

mondo / HP Ultrium 960

Hello,

I have just installed the latest versions of mondo and mindi.
Installing went real easy, I just used the RPMs.
I now want to create an image of my CentOS 5.3 server, writing to a HP
Ultrium 960 tape drive.

But there seems to be a problem. Initially everything appears fine,
but when it actually starts with "Archiving regular files", it almost
immediately asks for "Please insert volume 2 in this series".

In the logfile, also attached, I see:

 [Main] libmondo-stream.c-≥write_file_to_stream_from_file#1718:
libmondo-stream.c, write_file_to_stream_from_file, 1718: Sigpipe
occurred recently. I'll start a
 new tape.

I already tried setting the blocksize to 32, using the mt command, but
it didn't help. Anybody knows what I'm doing wrong here? Or are there
any known issues with this tape drive?
Attachment (mondoarchive.log.gz): application/x-gzip, 22 KiB

Yes, you did! We see this in your log:

Tape block size 32 bytes. Density code 0x44 (no translation).

nfspath is the path on the NFS server under /tmp/isodir that leads to your
iso image.

Yes.

No. nfspath=under-tmp-isodir/to/the/image.iso

x86_64 packages are now there for you to test.

Re: mondo / HP Ultrium 960

Hello,

Thank you very much for your reply, and sharing some of your past
experiences / lessons learned.

That was indeed a bit silly of me. I've just bought this tape drive,
still have to get used to it a little. It does work though, because
I've already been able to make backups using bacula and/or tar.

But I only changed this blocksize value, after the 0 setting did not
work. So I've attached two more log files now, one with blocksize 0,
and the other one with blocksize 32768. I've also pressed enter a few
times when the dialogue box came up, requesting a new volume. But as
you will see, it is the same problem repeating.

This error is obviously the cause, after which the Sigpipe is thrown:

buffer (writer): write of data failed: Input/output error

It might well be me, doing something stupid here, because of my
inexperience with tape drives. Fortunately though, this one doesn't
run on steam ;-)

If this tool will work for me, I will be more than happy to donate to
your project, also because I can get direct support from the author
that way, in case of future issues. And off course also because I
really like what this tool can do.

Thanks again for your time.

I spoke too soon. It seems to display the error only when I include my
