Re: Execution of /usr/sbin/mindi-bkphw aborted due to compilation errors

I have found this too, and manually fixed the syntax errors.

I am heading to the office now, but will reply from there with the
solution from there.

Yep. And the Web section is 50 MB.

$ rsync -v rsync.mondorescue.org::
mondorescue-ftp Mondorescue project FTP area (3.1 GB)
mondorescue-www Mondorescue project Web area ( 50 MB)

Re: Execution of /usr/sbin/mindi-bkphw aborted due to compilation errors

Robert,

How'd you make out with this. I don't have udevstart either. Suse 10.2.
In checking older suse rpms it seems udevstart used to be included.

I've been chasing a udev issue for months. I can to a backup and
restore. But the restore won't boot. The are no hd nodes in /dev

Centos EIP panic

All,

Anyone know what latest Centos kernel on a source machine works for P2V under VMWare?

2.6.9-67.0.4.plus.c4 gives a Bad EIP Value panic when booting from the mindi restore ISO. I think that 2.6.9-42.0.10.EL was ok though.

Adrian

IIRC this was fixed after rev1878. You may want to update your mindi
version which is older than your mondo test version (rev 1883).

> and the application just sits at the attached screenshot

That's strange as mindi finishes itself its run per the log.
I wonder whether your NFS4 bind mount are handled correctly.

> I can understand the lack of udevstart, but not the others, any ideas?

Don't worry, even if /usr/sbin/mindi-bkphw doesn't work, it's harmless
for 99% of the people for the moment.

Can you try the following:

Edit the files /etc/mindi/udev.files and add /dev/root to it at the end.
Then re-run your backup and report again.

Thanks for your patience, and excuse my current lack of time to fix
this.

Maybe another victim of http://trac.mondorescue.org/ticket/172 ?
If you still have the older kernel, use -k /boot/thatkernel in the mean
time.

No as mindi tests both names (with - and _) for core and cd
I have added ide-_disk which wasn't, but I think it's rather the lack of
/dev/root device link which is causing the issue.

Interesting.
Could you give me the result of :
cat /proc/devices

With latest 2.2.5 there shouldn't be a problem anymore (except I didn't
had lots of reports). Just say yes, and report back what you find.

Yep. Bug report 172.

Interesting. I also found that the mount was the culprit, but didn't try
that. I'm rebuilding new packages with your suggestion (thanks for
tracking that down) and will ask for people to test those as soon as
built.

Thanks a lot,
Bruno.
