https://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=61658 Summary : cooker.2011: Install of perl-URPM-4.0-1 breaks urpmi, rpmdrake, ..., system. Product : Mandriva Linux Component : Core Packages Version : Cooker RPM Package: perl-URPM-4.0-1mdv2011.0.src.rpm Status : REOPENED Severity : critical Priority : release_critical Assigned To: peroyvind <at> mandriva.org Reported By: rjcooks <at> yahoo.com --- Comment #96 from Ric <rjcooks <at> yahoo.com> 2010-12-01 01:25:03 CEST --- I did not say that. I won't say that. There is no reason to say that. We have discussed btrfs effects and as far as I am concerned the issue was just another side effect of using btrfs. Worth mentioning to the dev(you) as a 'heads-up, something weird happened' but not more. If I saw and could document on system where unstable fs is not in use then I would post a bug report. But in my mind there are extenuating circumstances where any 'rock-solid' software can be forced into doing crazy stuff. db51_printlog is essentially all there is in "vanilla"
Berkeley DB. It's not too hard to do what *_printlog
is doing (and will need to be done when "syscall ACID"
gets turned on again because dirs/files will magically
appear/disappear when DB_RECOVER is run.
There is an awk script iirc that does some reformatting
that is part of Berkeley DB. I'll dig it out over the next few days.
Meanwhile, post mortem forensic analysis is there if/when needed.
There's another level of debugging that can be done by adding
"debug" to individual indices like this (from /usr/lib/rpm/macros)
