Here are the messages when launched in console.
This bug is annoying, because if you happen to answer "yes" to the question,
minimal settings are set, and the game becomes very ugly :)

Unable to open sound device

(to comment #1 and comment #2)
Scorched3d launched alone plays sound without problem.
If I start amarok before (using xine on alsa) and then scorched3d, it is unable
to open the sound device.

It is a cheap integrated sound device.

the gtk gui of unixODBC requires gnome 1.4, gtk1.2 and a host of other obsolete
dependencies.  as we're trying to move gnome 1.4 and gtk1.2 to contrib, we
shouldn't build the gtk part.

I dont think users of gnome2 gain anything by having this app built, as if
anything it requires more dependencies for them than the qt version. 
Additionally, some of the gui functionality is only available in the qt
version.

we add a hack into the inn spec file to make sure it is linking with db1.  this
is way obsolete as inn does not build by default against the berkeley db libs
anymore, it is now a configure option with --withberkeleydb.

the hack causes libs to link against db1 without actually needing it.  The
recommended berkeley db is 4.2 now if we do choose to build with this option
included.

i have included a spec patch.

Sorry for this late answer ...

My mdadm version is  1.12.0 jun 2005. and there is no "auto"  parameter
in the man page of mdadm.conf.

maybe mdadm should be upgraded by mandriva or does it work with this version of
mdadm ?
