Other thing that is weird, is that i see english items with portuguese items, so

This confirms it's not an audacity problem then. /dev/dsp1 is owned by root. If
I change mine to root.audio I get the same behavior, only /dev/dsp in the
drop-down list.

Sad, really, given that English is one of the most complicated and
difficult-to-learn languages. (-:

Dang!

Well, there'll be another one next year, this time in one of our two
easternmost states, New Zealand.

Cheers; Leon

------- Additional Comments From ftg <at> adelphia.net 2005-03-01 01:47 -------
No, it also happens for SCSI drivers. Note that I'm not saying that the prompts
are useless because they pertain to devices (like firewire) that aren't
necessarily going to be used in the install. The SCSI drivers are needed and
have to be loaded.

The point I'm trying to make is that it serves absolutely no purpose to tell the
user you're about to load the driver ***and make him click OK in response***.
You're going to load the driver anyway and the prompt doesn't have any other
choice than OK. If you want to flash a message box that says you're loading the
driver, fine. Just don't require a useless response from the user, since he
doesn't really have a choice anyway.

All this serves to do is make the install a little less automated and
accomplishes nothing of use.
